Tax Supervisor or Manager

A professional services firm on Long Island is currently seeking an experienced Tax professional to join their staff in Suffolk County in a Tax Supervisor / Manager role. Responsibilities: The Tax Supervisor / Manager will be responsible for: Preparation and review of individual, corporate, partnership, trust and estate returns and projections for accuracy Providing insight to tax saving measures Performing Federal and State tax research Preparing financials (SSARS 21, compilations, reviews) Full charge coordination and completion of client engagements Consultation with clients on various business matters including controller support Responding to client inquiries, including IRS and State and Local tax notices Mentoring staff, as needed Performing other duties, as needed Qualifications: 4+ years public tax experience with HNW individuals and mid-sized businesses Bachelor's degree in Accounting Current knowledge of GAAP Working knowledge of Accounting software Microsoft Excel proficient Solid analytical, mathematical, and research skills Great interpersonal skills Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) Strong attention to detail Highly organized Desired Skills: CPA or parts passed Background in Auditing Working knowledge of CCH Axcess and Engagement
