Physician Assistant - Medicine

The Department of Medicine at Jamaica Hospital Medical Center currently seeks Physician Assistants for immediate day shift opportunities Our ideal candidates will be compassionate, flexible providers. DUTIES: As a Physician Assistant in our Medicine Department, you will have the opportunity to manage all aspects of patient care including : Taking initial patient histories and performing physical examinations. Evaluating, diagnosing, developing, and managing treatment plans Ordering and interpreting lab tests Counseling patients Performing various medical procedures a Conferring with attending physicians, residents, and other care providers to ensure optimum quality of patient care. Requirements Bachelor's Degree required. Graduate of an accredited (Accreditation Review Committee for Physician Assistant Programs (ARC-PA) program, required. Licensed Physician Assistant by the New York State Department of Education is required. Current NCCPA Certification from the National Commission on the Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA), is required. Current BLS and ACLS certifications, required MUST HAVE FLEXIBLE schedule to cover days, nights, and weekends - on a rotating basis.
