A Residential and Commercial Real Estate company in New York City is currently seeking a highly skilled and motivated Network Administrator / Systems Administrator to manage and maintain the organization's network and systems infrastructure. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring the stability, integrity, and efficient operation of the company's IT network, servers, and related hardware/software. This role requires a proactive individual capable of troubleshooting, optimizing, and expanding the network infrastructure as the organization grows. ***This is a full-time position, onsite Mon-Fri*** Responsibilities: The Network / System Administrator will: Design, install, configure, and maintain local area networks (LAN), wide area networks (WAN), and other network segments Monitor network performance (availability, utilization, throughput, latency) and perform regular network troubleshooting to resolve issues Implement and manage firewalls, routers, switches, and other networking equipment Configure and manage VPN connections for remote access Perform regular security checks, vulnerability assessments, and apply network patches Manage and maintain the organization's servers (physical and virtual), ensuring uptime and availability Perform regular system updates, backups, and disaster recovery tests Administer Active Directory, including user and group management, permissions, and security Monitor and troubleshoot server and storage performance issues Ensure data integrity and system security by implementing appropriate controls, backup strategies, and redundancy systems Provide support for end-user devices including desktops, laptops, printers, and mobile devices Assist with hardware procurement, installation, and configuration Install, upgrade, and maintain software, including operating systems, business applications, and system utilities Maintain endpoint security (antivirus, antimalware, patching) and manage incident response protocols Implement and enforce security policies, including monitoring network access, managing security protocols, and ensuring the organization meets industry compliance requirements Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of network and systems infrastructure. Provide regular reports on network performance, security audits, and system capacity planning Qualifications: 3+ years of experience in Network & Administration or similar roles. Bachelor's Degree in a related field Desired Skills: Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science and/or Information Technology Certifications such as CCNA, CompTIA Network+, MCSE, or other relevant credentials Strong knowledge of networking protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN) Proficiency with network hardware (routers, switches, firewalls) and systems (Windows Server, Linux, Active Directory) Experience with virtualization technologies (VMware, Hyper-V) and cloud services (AWS, Azure) Familiarity with backup solutions and disaster recovery planning Ability to manage multiple projects and tasks with attention to detail and deadlines
