Specific Facility Donzella Administration Building Position Reports To MUI Manager Work Schedule Full-time: 7.5 hours per day / Year Round (150 hours every 4-weeks) Overview The Cuyahoga County Board of Developmental Disabilities (Cuyahoga DD) is seeking an Investigative Agent to investigate Major Unusual Incidents (MUIs) involving individuals with disabilities, and to conduct all related follow up in accordance with requirements specified in state rules and Board policies and procedures. The nature of work will include, but is not limited to the following: Conduct investigations of assigned MUIs as prescribed by State rules and Board policies and procedures. Conduct investigations of other incidents assigned by the MUI manager and/or MUI Intake coordinator. Take actions, as necessary, to protect the health and safety of consumers identified as being at risk as a result of an MUI. Maintain a record for each assigned MUI that documents all investigation activities and supports case findings. Complete a written investigation report, investigation summary, and other reports/documents as required by State rules and Board policies and procedures for every assigned MUI. Complete all investigations, investigation reports, and other documents within timeframes prescribed by State rules. Develop and maintain professional and collaborative relationships with providers, law enforcement agencies and others as necessary. Testify on behalf of Cuyahoga DD in case proceedings as necessary. Perform Waiver administration activities as they relate to the position. Document activities in a manner consistent with the Ohio Department of Developmental Disabilities (DODD) requirements. PERSONAL CONTACTS : Will have contact with provider agencies, other Cuyahoga DD staff, individuals we support, families of individuals, law enforcement officials, and staff of Department of Children and Family Services. UNUSUAL WORKING CONDITIONS : May be required to respond outside of the Cuyahoga DD normal business hours. ESSENTIAL KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES: Knowledge of: State of Ohio and Cuyahoga DD MUI rules, regulations, policies and procedures. Investigation techniques, rules of evidence and statutory responsibilities. Indicators of abuse and neglect and consumer mistreatment. Developmental disabilities and the comprehension and communication abilities of persons with disabilities. Ability to: Interview with competence and understanding. Write complete and objective reports concisely and with clarity. Effectively communicate orally. Organize work and manage time. Work effectively and cooperatively with others. This agreement takes into consideration not only the education and experience of the applicant but also internal equity for our existing employees. The typical starting salary for a candidate holding a BA degree is $51,385.00. The typical starting salary for a candidate holding a MA degree is $52.927.00. Although we do permit some remote work at home with flexible, hybrid work schedules for some of our positions, we do expect staff to be able to commute to our facilities in Cuyahoga County, Ohio on a regular basis. We have facilities in Parma, Cleveland, and Highland Hills, Ohio. All employees will be based in one of these three cities. We do not currently offer any fully remote positions. All positions come with the expectation that the employee will work onsite at an assigned facility in Cuyahoga County some days each week as directed. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in a social service or law enforcement field required. Three years' experience in social work or conducting criminal or administrative investigations. Eligibility for DODD certification with certification occurring within state statute time lines. (May be obtained after hire.)
