Litigation Paralegal

Overview: Location: Onsite- Columbus OH Job Type: Full Time Work Authorization: US Citizen, No C2C The A.C. Coy Company has an immediate opening for a Litigation Paralegal. Ideal candidates must have an Associates Degree with at least 4 years of experience as a Paralegal. Certificate from an ABA approved paralegal program is preferred. Responsibilities: Assist attorneys in organizing and managing case files; including maintaining document databases and electronic record Draft legal documents including routine pleadings and motions, affidavits, and interrogatories; files motions and pleading according to judicial procedures Research and analyzes statute, regulations, legal articles, judicial decisions, and other legal sources; provides written analysis to attorneys Assist in preparing trials which includes preparing, witness lists, trial exhibits and coordinating logistics for court appearances Scheduling of witness interviews, inform witness of trial dates; in certain cases, the paralegal may be asked to conduct an initial interview Qualifications: Education Associates Degree required. Paralegal Certificate from an ABA approved program preferred Experience Four or more years experience as a paralegal Project and case management skills. Candidates must have a strong aptitude for prioritizing and managing multiple projects and meet deadlines Excellent written and verbal communication skills as well as analytical, problem solving and decision-making skills Position may involve some transactional (real estate and corporate) work and environmental and regulatory work
