Leadership and Team Management: Lead, mentor, and manage a diverse team of systems engineers, ensuring they are equipped with the necessary skills and knowledge to support the organization's complex infrastructure. Foster a collaborative, high-performance culture where team members are encouraged to share ideas, innovate, and grow. Assign roles and responsibilities effectively, ensuring the team's workload is balanced and aligned with project priorities. Oversee the day-to-day operations, including troubleshooting escalations and resource allocation for critical system support tasks. Conduct regular performance reviews, provide feedback, and implement personal development plans for team members to ensure continuous improvement and professional growth. Strategic planning and Design: Oversee the selection and implementation of system solutions, including compute, storage, backup, and virtualization, ensuring they are optimized for performance, security, and cost-efficiency. Collaborate with other technical teams to ensure systems architecture meets organizational needs. Develop and execute strategies aligned with the company's long-term technology roadmap, including planning for capacity, scalability, and redundancy. Manage the System Infrastructure budget, ensuring cost-effective solutions while meeting performance and security requirements. Promote and lead automation initiatives in system provisioning, configuration management, and operations to reduce manual intervention and improve operational efficiency. Cloud and Hybrid Infrastructure Management: Define and execute the strategy for utilizing cloud infrastructure effectively, balancing between cloud-native solutions and legacy on-premises systems. Manage workloads across multiple cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP, Oracle), ensuring cost optimization, performance monitoring, and security. Develop frameworks for managing hybrid workloads that allow seamless integration between cloud and on-premises systems Project Management: Manage large-scale projects such as upgrades, expansions, and migration. Ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, and budget Act as the point of contact for system-related issues and communicate project status and critical issues with senior management and other stakeholders. Operations and Maintenance: Implement and maintain robust system monitoring and alerting tools to proactively identify issues and minimize downtime. Develop and enforce standard operating procedures for incident management, ensuring rapid response and resolution of critical system issues. Design and implement disaster recovery (DR) solutions to ensure high availability and minimal data loss in case of system failures. Cross-functional Collaboration: Work closely with other IT teams (cloud, network, security, DevOps, and application development) to ensure that the systems infrastructure aligns with the broader IT strategy and supports ongoing projects and initiatives. Foster partnerships with these teams to ensure smooth coordination in implementing infrastructure changes. Act as the primary point of contact for systems engineering matters, regularly providing updates on system performance, capacity, security, and project statuses to senior management and other stakeholders. Translate complex technical issues into business language to facilitate decision-making. Innovation and Continuous Improvement: Stay current with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in systems engineering, cloud infrastructure, and automation. Regularly evaluate and recommend new tools, platforms, and processes that could enhance operational efficiency, scalability, or security. Drive initiatives to automate routine systems management tasks such as provisioning, monitoring, and backups, reducing manual interventions and lowering the risk of human error. Implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC) where applicable. Continuously assess and improve existing operational processes, identifying areas for efficiency gains, cost savings, and performance improvements. Encourage a culture of continuous improvement within the team by promoting innovation and experimentation. Vendor Management: Establish and maintain relationships with service providers and technology vendors, ensuring service-level agreements (SLAs) are met. This includes managing contracts, support, and procurement. Must Have: 5 Years management, 10 years in IT.
