Compensation and Benefits: Compensation: Starting pay rate of $16.50, actual wage will be adjusted based on experience. Benefits: Full and part-time, seasonal position eligible for a season pass for employee/dependents and privileges at several other resorts. Several discount programs (i.e. food & beverage, retail/rental, tickets, etc.) also available. Job Summary: Hosts at Killington Resort are expected to offer exceptional guest service, be knowledgeable of resort amenities and events, and cooperate with all departments in delivering a world-class experience to every guest. Summary of Key Responsibilities: Responsibilities and essential job functions include but are not limited to the following: Warmly greeting guests, setting table with water and menus, and escorting to their seat Professionally controlling the flow of seating in Preston's. Deliver professional and exceptional service at all levels of the guest experience Answer all phone calls, and respond to all voice messages in a polished manner Introduce guest to their server Offer friendly suggestions on food and beverage options to increase the guest's experience Maintain knowledge of all beer, wine, and liquor offerings, including special or reserve choices Distribute parties evenly amongst servers, and notify supervisor & kitchen of all parties more than six Accurately and efficiently inform servers of all special information for the table (i.e. birthdays, anniversaries, VIP) Accurately and efficiently quote wait times for guests and collect all necessary information to recall guests for table Maintain friendly and polite tone and demeanor at all times Maintain clean and organized work areas Accurately and efficiently take to go orders, and enter them into computerized ordering system (including special requests and order changes) Securely handle credit card and room charge transactions Assist servers with side work Exceed company standards for personal appearance Remain flexible, efficient, and helpful in assisting other servers, bartenders, support staff, and supervisors in the restaurant Be respectful of all supervisory staff, co-workers, culinary staff, guests, and fellow Killington Resort employees at all times ALWAYS THANK EVERY GUEST FOR COMING TO DINE/VISIT! Resolve any guest issues immediately. Notify supervisors of all issues with guests Assist in other areas of the restaurant as deemed necessary by supervisor Basic Qualifications: Must be at least 18 yrs old Basic education (high school), plus relevant restaurant or other food service experience preferred Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Basic knowledge of dining room and bar operations, including waiting on tables, hosting, bartending, and cashiering Vermont Department of Liquor Control certification of state liquor regulations Neat appearance and pleasant personality.
