Reports To: Operations Manager FLSA Classification: Exempt Position Summary: The Warehouse Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the process of shipping and receiving inside the small Alsip, IL warehouse location. This role is also involved in the responsibility of quality control of material and packaging of orders that are being shipped to customers. This manager is responsible for creating weekly schedules for employees based on the order load to ensure on-time delivery. Duties and Responsibilities: Responsible for overseeing all shipping and receiving employees and processes. Communicating and organizing daily schedules for all Warehouse Material Handlers and Receiving personnel. Organizing company transfers for delivery to each branch. Understand material codes and report adjustments to inventory to match available stock. Responsible for keeping cleanliness and order within the warehouse workspace. Encourage and maintain a safe work environment at all times. Assist in the warehouse as required, including all areas of the warehouse material handler responsibilities. Liaison between sales staff and warehouse staff on order discrepancies and/or changes regarding stock availability, goods received or shipping dates Provide support for on-going product knowledge and education. Authorize and initial all changes on orders. Operate forklift [order picker] reaching heights of 16' Process in bound freight by verifying contents against packing list Record all items received on packing list and reconcile to company Purchase order Record all shortage, overage, damaged and incorrect material Prepare items for shipping that are being returned for credit Unload trucks and disburse inventory to designated stock or shipping area Requirements Education and Experience Required: HS Diploma or GED Equivalent from an accredited institution 1+ years team or project leadership experience 2+ years manufacturing experience Previous experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint) Preferred Education, Experience, and Skills: 3+ years supervisory experience Previous experience operating warehouse equipment, and successful completion of a forklift training program Associate's degree in supply chain, maintenance, manufacturing, or related field Effective written and verbal communication skills Strong organizational skills Strategic planning skills High level of accuracy and attention to detail Physical Requirements: Qualified applicants must be able to perform the following physical job requirements, with or without reasonable accommodation: Must be able to lift up-to 50 pounds Must be able to work in hot, humid, and cold manufacturing environment Must be able to work in crowded spaces for 4+ hours per shift Must be able to bend and crawl for 4+ hours per shift Much be able to crouch, kneel and stoop for 4+ hours per shift Must be able to climb ladders for 4+ hours per shift Must be able to sit, stand and walk for 6+ hours per shift Must be able to perform simple grasping, push, pull, perform fine manipulation, and feel for 6+ hours per shift Must be able to operate foot pedals for 4+ hours per shift Must be able to make fine distinctions in sound, express and exchange written or spoken word, and distinguish objects and equipment visually
