Responsibilities: Summary Thermal Ceramics, a global leader servicing multiple markets with a wide range of thermal insulation products is seeking a Financial Controller. This exciting and highly visible position requires a broad knowledge of diverse financial functions for general business with a specific focus on manufacturing. The successful candidate will engage with the Americas and Global finance teams, business and operations leaders, internal and external auditors. The ideal candidate is a result driven individual, action-oriented, with IFRS accounting knowledge/experience, a tracking record of driving and championing a strong controls environment, driving process improvements, leading and developing teams. Key responsibilities include managing the month end close, financial statement reporting, G/L administration, AR & AP, payroll accounting, budgeting, forecasting, external & internal audits, and all compliance & internal controls for the Thermal Ceramics US legal entity, which includes 3 manufacturing sites. Essential duties and responsibilities Manage, analyse, evaluate, and interpret the legal entities financial statements and operating results. Inform management of results and recommend corrective actions to address unfavourable trends and variances. Responsible for preparation, reporting and review of all statutory financial statements. Review, analyse and evaluate financial data and information for accuracy, consistency, and transparency. Maintain integrity of financial reports prepared for the legal entities. Manage and provide guidance to financial accountants in all areas of general ledger accounting in collaboration with the Treasury/Tax and Credit/Collections Administrators. Oversee month-end closings to ensure all journal entries are completed and various accounts are analysed on a timely basis. Develop and review the legal entities balance sheet account reconciliations. Work closely with Operations Controller monitoring inventory (raw material, packaging material, finished goods, spare parts, etc.) movements. Assist with effort to identify and resolve potential financial exposure or process issues (significant variances, EO, etc.) Comply with all Federal, State and Local regulations, as well as all Company policies and procedures. Assist and prepares all information needed for the federal and various state income tax returns. Establish strong relationship and collaboration with peers across all functions. Collaborate with exec team in preparing annual budgets as well as monthly forecasts. Lead the coordination of annual internal and external audit requirements; take responsibility in providing all required information in support of audits. Drive the completion and implementation of all legal entities audit action plans, coordinating completion with all functions per agreed deadline and deliverables. Ensure internal control procedures are in place and functioning effectively. Maintain adequate internal controls necessary to safeguard the assets of the company and deliver reliable financial statements. Review various systems, including financial reporting, general ledger, accounts receivable, accounts payable, inventory, cost accounting, invoicing, fixed assets, payroll and labor distribution, to ensure controls are maintained. Responsible for the integration of company acquisitions and/or new manufacturing areas including training of their accounting person. Proactive and insightful support, metrics, trends and analysis leveraging management reporting system, JD Edwards and Microsoft D365. Must be (or become) knowledgeable of all JDE modules and how they impact the financials. Provides support and assistance in resolving JDE system issues for all JDE modules. Responsible for the integration and development of new and/or improved systems related to accounting. D365 experience and Power BI skills are desirable. Review personnel performance, recommend promotions, transfers or terminations. Interview candidates for position openings and recommend new hires. Promote good working relations and communication among employees. Support special projects and conduct ad-hoc financial data analysis to support management in sound decision-making. Qualifications: BS/BBA degree with major in Accounting with strong focus in financial controls 7+ years of experience in all phases of accounting in a manufacturing environment 3+ years people management experience Minimum of 2 years audit and compliance experience Solid Prioritization, time management, and organizational skills Good communication skills, both verbal and written Strong leadership and team development skills Familiarity with SAP, JDE, or similar software programs D365 and Power BI skills Advanced MS Office, Word, Excel (very strong in MS Excel (pivots, lookups, logical functions, etc.), PowerPoint and, good report writing and data analysis skills Morgan Advanced Materials is an EEO/AA/M/W/D/V Employer Ind-1
