This team will be responsible for providing data platform to Athena helping other teams to succeed. Position Summary: We are looking for a Software Engineer to join this well-established team. You will collaborate with talented engineers who are transforming healthcare data into actionable insights that empower clinicians, researchers, and administrators, to deliver better care. The Team : The Datalake team is responsible for building out efficient and resilient data pipelines for ingesting bulk data from various data sources to unlock the value of athena's offerings and building out athena's next generation workflows. The team will be focused on highly scalable data technologies in the cloud to enable the delivery of insights and drive actions across multiple sets of users, including, Analysts and Data science. The ideal candidate would be a motivated software engineer who has a passion for data and is willing to work collaboratively across teams and organizations. Responsibilities: Design, develop, and deploy high-quality code to production in an Agile team of data engineers, in a collaborative and high-performing environment. Develop knowledge to act as a domain expert, share business and technical insights with the team and broader engineering and product organization. Collaborate inclusively with cross-functional team members to develop product solutions that ultimately help improve health outcomes for patients. Clearly communicate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders. Collaborate effectively with data engineers, data scientists, analysts, software engineers, and business leaders to translate data needs into actionable solutions. Troubleshoot production and non-production issues and support athenaOne customers. Demonstrate ownership for what you and the team build and deploy in production. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Systems, or equivalent. 2-4 years of commercial software engineering experience, dealing with data at scale. Knowledge of one or more modern programming languages such as: Python, Ruby and Java. Knowledge of Unix/Linux, SQL, NOSQL, and related tools and technologies. Experience with delivering products that leverage one or more of AWS/Microsoft Azure/Google Cloud Provider. Knowledge of Agile SDLC practices; familiarity with unit and integration testing, as well as design and code reviews and documentation. Ability to write code that is technically sound, resilient, performant, scalable, and readable. Strong communication skills to work across geographies, and a record of engineering achievement, code ownership, and customer orientation. Track record of designing and delivering cloud-based products, modules, and services. Proven track record of implementing and adopting new technologies and methodologies. Knowledge of healthcare and electronic health records is a plus.
