All Hamilton County Health Department employees are responsible for ensuring their contact information is current and they are accessible should a public health emergency arise. The Hamilton County Health Department maintains a call down system to store contact information and mobilize staff in the event of an emergency. During a public health emergency, all staff are required to respond should a call to mobilize be made. During a public health emergency, work hours for any and all Hamilton County Health Department employees are subject to modification to meet the needs of the community. Under general supervision, performs duties of Registered Dental Hygienist to provide oral health preventative educational, clinical, and therapeutic care and instruction in either a dental clinic or traveling to elementary schools throughout Hamilton County. Minimum Qualifications Tennessee Dental Board License for Dental Hygienist with one (1) year of working experience in a pediatric dental or general dentist office. A valid driver's license is required. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS : Work requires standing for long periods of time chairside in the performance of dental hygienist duties; moving, setting up, tearing down and boxing portable dental hygiene office equipment at multiple sites throughout the year; sites determined by school principal and frequently require climbing stairs; exposure to infectious diseases, hazardous chemicals and fumes, and potential radiation exposure. Must be able to lift and carry up to twenty-five (25) pounds.
