FUNCTION: This is an entry level position for someone that wants to grow in the mortgage department. Experience in the financial services industry and excellent customer service preferred. Cross-selling credit union products and services, building member relationships, regulatory and legal compliance, and providing additional member services as requested. Comply with BSA/AML/CIP and all relevant rules and regulations. *Spanish Speaking Required RESPONSIBILITIES: Services all existing loans. Prepares documentation and reports as requested. Assists members with their transactions via telephone, mail or walk-in. Responds to all calls or e-mails within the same day. During absence, ensures that all calls and emails will be answered or set an automated notification. Verifies accuracy and completeness of all loan documents. Sets up accurate and complete loan files and/or secondary market files and follows up on pending issues or missing documents as needed. Disburses loans Monitors tax escrow accounts and disburses tax payments as required. Tracks compliance with insurance requirements and all regulatory requirements. Monitors all insurance documentation (fire, flood, etc.) and takes appropriate action to protect the credit union's interests. Prepares discharges of real estate loans in a timely manner. Keeps track of documentation during the life of the loan. Prepares closing packages and works closely with attorneys to facilitate and expedite real estate loan closings. Inputs residential and consumer loans into Core System. Troubleshoots problems with the computer systems. Liaises with all software providers to ensure accuracy and compliance. Participates in the credit union's sales and business development efforts as requested or as a volunteer. Maintains knowledge on secondary market standards and rules, HMDA, CRA, BSA, general compliance and other competencies needed to perform the job requirements. Performs any additional duties as requested, including coverage in other departments, as needed. High School diploma and the willingness to learn on the job and grow in the mortgage servicing role. This is an entry level position.
