RAirgas Data Officer (Open) Location: Radnor, PA (Airgas HO) - Management How will you CONTRIBUTE and GROW? The Airgas data program will focus first on improving the customer experience: strengthening our operations, reducing the customer effort (measured by CES) and generating additional growth thanks to a simple, personalized experience to our customers on every channel. A key priority of the Airgas data program will be to deliver the 10 key Data Products essential to enable the /POS MVP. Sound data Management plays a key role in being a "data-centric" organization, in which all decisions are taken on facts and data. It defines how data can create value along their respective value chain, and set the corresponding roadmap to make it happen. It requires a transparent, global and practical data governance. The Airgas Data Officer will chair an Airgas Data Board to ensure constant alignment across Airgas business units and drive value creation. The role will report functionally to the Group Data Officer. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES , include the following. Key Missions / Objectives: Define and execute Airgas data strategy and roadmap : driving Airgas maturity to operate data at scale, recognizing and leveraging the Airgas decentralized way of working. Steer continuous data-driven value delivery to Airgas customers and associates : facilitating the shift to digital product-centric mindset to shorten time to market and foster agility. Ensure consistent quality, security and compliance of data : set-up data quality framework, implement robust governance structure and streamlined processes to assess and support data integrity efforts along Core data models (Group and Airgas specific). Advocate democratization of data within the Airgas organization: deliver comprehensive training and continuous support to business units to empower associates on data. Consistently document and replicate data best practice within the decentralized structure of Airgas 1. Define and execute Airgas data strategy and roadmap Define the Airgas Data roadmap by collecting use cases from the field and by taking into consideration the business priorities in strong collaboration with Airgas Divisions/BU leadership. This roadmap contains the objectives on business use cases and on the expected generated value, the associated projects and data domains management rules. The 10 data products enabling /POS future state will be addressed in priority. Establish and chair an Airgas Data Board with BU leadership representation to validate priorities and resources. The Airgas data board will be essential in bridging central and decentralized data activities, ensuring that the budget is in line with Airgas ambitions on data efforts. Participate to Group governance bodies relevant for data roadmaps implementation : Group Data Board , WBL Board, projects Steerco. Articulate and communicate to the Airgas Cluster teams about how their proposals of data use cases should flow in that process, for selection, resources funding and deployment. Represent Airgas on the development of all Group/Hub data enabling tools and platforms. In particular, work in close collaboration with GDO to drive the development and performance of the Americas Data Platform , ensuring delivery of high-quality data products. 2. Steer continuous data-driven value delivery to Airgas customers and associates Ensure that the development of new data products/digital solutions , as well as the evolution of the existing solutions, are aligned with the Data Roadmap , in cooperation with Digital & IT and WBL/Corporate Functions Data Officers. Implement a data valorization model to measure outcome of data products , making sure that every data product has a clear business owner and associated KPI's. Foster an environment of non-linear reporting structures; support centralized reporting by Domains for key persona, in line with Airgas Drive, while preserving the entrepreneurial spirit of the Div/BU's ability to continue building their own BI reports. Lead the adoption of data tools and data products in the Div/BU's, that will drive the value maximization of these assets. Promote related education initiatives while developing an effective system to gauge adoption levels Forster Data product scale-up: support/coach data products solution owners; target impactful use cases that support the evolving needs of the organization and move them through the POC/MVP/Scale-up process. Promote replication and engagement of impactful data products across all Div/BU's. Establish the environment to support rapid iteration and refinement of AI products specifically in regards to embedding AI into experience in all channels (including BUs), deploying AI products into production. Bridge any organizational silos to achieve faster iteration speeds 3. Ensure consistent quality, security and compliance of data Define the list of existing data domains applicable to Airgas in collaboration with WBL / corporate function Data Officers and onboard Data Owners to gain engagement and establish ownership of data in Airgas Accountable to establish procedure and guidance for Data Owners, aligned with Group guidelines, to define and review Core (and extended) Data Models, Master Data, Data portal, and maps of data sources (see definitions in appendix); Provide guidance for specification of access control models, compliance and security. Work closely with Airgas IPC who is the referent person for supporting compliance to regulations applicable to its business fields, geographies or function; Accountable to define the key metrics and projects to improve the quality of the most critical data for Airgas Operations (e.g. customer and product master data). Develop coordinated plans with Div/BU's to ensure that all associates exercise personal accountability for validations and enhancements to the data quality in the field. 4. Advocate democratization of data within the Airgas organization Promote a data culture in all levels of Airgas, by educating Airgas associates and developments of data skills and identification of talents. Support the deployment of talents managing data and AI through the AI Readiness program . Are you a MATCH? Knowledge and understanding of Business process in the scope of Airgas' activities Strong analytical skills and problem solving skills Appetite to continuously learn about Data techniques and practices Ability to coordinate between teams and business-solution oriented Pedagogical ability to conduct change management Excellent facilitation, influencing and negotiation skills, including the ability to gain cross-departmental consensus Ability to manage tight timelines with respect to deliverables Ability to interact at the detailed level with both business and IT teams and develop an understanding of the usage of enterprise data and data products Ability to travel primarily domestically up to 20% and occasional international travel EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE A minimum of a Bachelor's degree in business, business technology, management information systems or related field where you gained an understanding of technology and business management A minimum of ten (10) years of experience in the industry plus five (5) years of work with data and/or Digital and IT systems, external data sources, associated data tools and leadership management to total a minimum of fifteen (15) years of professional experience in a corporate setting Experience with data governance and technology practice related to managing enterprise data as an asset Successful experience on how to create value using customer data in Sales, Marketing and operations is a plus.
