JOB SUMMARY: This position is responsible for supporting the overall effectiveness of the financial functions within the organization. The Job Cost Accountant will apply cost effectiveness and revenue optimization measures, as well as maintain accurate and reliable financial accounts that are available on a timely basis. JOB DUTIES: Core duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned. 1. Lead efforts in establishing, updating, monitoring, and analyzing multi-project budgets and cost control reports (including but not limited to budgets, funding sources, subcontract commitments, change orders, contingencies, allowances, general conditions, forecasts, risk analysis, etc.) 2. Generate over/under variance reports with supporting analysis. 3. Actively participate in change management and forecasting processes. 4. Oversee identification of risks and opportunities. 5. Oversee adherence to corporate cost control policies and procedures. 6. Work with project managers and staff to collect timely invoices from sub-contractors. 7. Lead and generate multi-project financial gross margin reports. 8. Perform analytical reviews, validations and audits to support internal and external cost control requirements. 9. Prepare and process Owner AIA invoices, subcontractor pay requests and associated backup documents (i.e., sworn statements, lien waivers, etc.). 10. Initiate and participate in process improvement initiatives. 11. Proactively apply problem solving techniques in supporting team requirements. 12. Effectively collaborate with colleagues and project team members as needed. 13. Supervise and provide oversight to one or more cost analyst support staff, where required. 14. Other projects as assigned by the Director of Construction and President of OPM. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: The position does not directly supervise any other personnel. Salary 70,000-80,000 / Year JOB REQUIREMENTS: 1. Bachelor's Degree in Accounting/Finance, Business, or Construction Management (or related field) and 5+ years of experience, or combined equivalent. 2. Strong financial background with analytical and numerical proficiency. 3. Proficiency in job cost accounting software (including but not limited to: Procore or Yardi). 4. Strong oral and written communication skills; ability to correspond in a professional, businesslike manner and speak effectively before groups of customers and colleagues. 5. Excellent budgeting and planning skills. 6. High level of detail-orientation and strong ability to think/communicate strategically. 7. High degree of initiative and accountability; general willingness to go the extra mile when needed. 8. Perform all job duties with a positive attitude. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS & WORKING CONDITIONS: Employee will be regularly required to sit, use hands to handle or feel, and talk or hear. Employee will be frequently required to ascend/descend multiple flights of stairs, reach with hands or arms, and occasionally navigate uneven terrain by foot. Employee is occasionally required to sit or stand; walk and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. Employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, and depth perception. The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. Normal working office conditions in an open setting. Noise level in this work environment is usually moderate.
