River Crossing YMCA is looking to hire a Lifeguard ! Lifeguard Salary : $11.50 - $15.50 per hour Lifeguard Hours : All shifts available, opening shifts available for the early bird! (Part Time) Lifeguard Responsibilities : Maintains active surveillance of the pool area Knows/reviews all emergency procedures and responds to emergency situations immediately in accordance with YMCA policies and procedures Accurately completes related reports as required Maintains effective, positive relationships with the members, participants, and other staff Knows, understands, and consistently applies safety rules, policies, and guidelines for the pool and aquatic area including the sauna, whirlpool, and steam room Maintains accurate records as required by the YMCA and/or the state Health Department code Performs equipment checks and ensures appropriate equipment is available as needed reporting any concerns to the Aquatics Director Checks the pool for hazardous conditions when arriving Performs chemical testing when not guarding, as required, and takes appropriate action Attends all staff meetings and in-service training Performs other duties as assigned Lifeguard Qualifications : Minimum age of fifteen (15) Lifeguard Certification CPR for the Professional Rescuer, AED, Basic First Aid, and Emergency Oxygen, ARC Lifeguard or equivalent Ability to maintain a level of physical and mental readiness consistently over the entire guard shift Must demonstrate lifeguard skills in accordance with YMCA standards Additional training requirements Familiarity with personal computers helpful Diligence in responding to safety and emergency situations Able to effectively communicate and build relationships with Y staff, members, and vendors Excellent verbal and written communication skills Good customer service skills, high ethical standards, an appropriate professional image, and a team player Must possess sound technical skills, analytical ability, good judgment skills, and a positive attitude Bi-lingual (Spanish) helpful Lifeguard Benefits: Supplemental insurance benefits (Voluntary Accident/Injury, Hospital, and Cancer coverage via Aflac) 12% employer contribution to your YMCA pension plan YMCA Membership Up to 100% off of Childcare and Camps Exceptional growth potential for your role and career Salary: $11.50 - $15.50 per hour Job Type: Part-time YMCA is an Equal Opportunity Employer All Qualified Women, Minorities, Persons with Disabilities, and US Veterans Encouraged to Apply ARE YOU READY TO JOIN OUR TEAM?
