Space Payload Software Engineering Manager Job Category: Engineering Time Type: Full time Minimum Clearance Required to Start: None Employee Type: Regular Percentage of Travel Required: Up to 10% Type of Travel: Continental US What You'll get to Do: Work on CACI's growing Space Development Team as a Software Engineer focusing on ground/payload system hardware. More About the Role: CACI's Advanced Systems Group is looking for a Software Engineering Lead to join the Space Systems Development Team. Are you interested in working on software design and architectures? As a motivated software engineer on this growing program you will lead the planning, design, development, and implementation of space payload and ground software with automated integration and testing frameworks. You will make proactive recommendations and advise on system improvements, automation, and risk management. You will work together with clients and your teammates in a fast-paced environment creating mission-critical software applications! Join CACI's Space Development Team and be a part of a fast-paced, technical design team and tackle these challenges and more. Responsibilities: Lead software engineering team for both payload and ground segments Architect and design a high performance software within the realm of PNT (Position, Navigation, and Timing) on the space development team STAR (Speed, Time, and Range)/COSTAR (Constellation, Speed, Time, and Range) lead for navigation layer systems Assist with defining system software & performance requirements for ground/payload applications Required Skills: Ability to obtain and maintain a TS/SCI clearance Bachelor's degree in Computer Science (ABET/EAC Accredited) 5+ years of related experience in relevant engineering disciplines (e.g. Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering) Experience in designing modern software systems Strong knowledge of RedHat Linux/UNIX operating systems Strong knowledge of Python and/or C++ programming languages Understanding of Agile software development methodologies, scrum experience Familiarity with space payload flight software and space to ground interfaces Desired Skills: Active Security Clearance Experience with AWS services, automated integration testing services, and interface testing Familiarity with mission management systems and operations Able to lead other technical professionals to solve difficult and complex problems and issues effectively Ability to communicate effectively and collaboratively in a team environment Demonstrated knowledge and experience with cloud / on-premise cloud environments. Proficiency in writing documentation via Confluence or similar Experience with Atlassian Suite tools Understanding of Test-Driven Development Experience with writing unit and integration tests Understanding of observer, adapter, and other well-known design patterns - What You Can Expect: A culture of integrity.
