Position Small Business Lending Officer Full-Time/Part-Time Full-Time Description Small Business Lending Officer Commercial Banking The Small Business Lending Officer position is responsible for making a valuable contribution to the bank's small business lending sales and business deposit growth. Responsible for developing new business, structuring and closing of commercial loans, both conventional and SBA, as well as maintaining and servicing a commercial loan portfolio. Represent the bank in its market area through active participation in community affairs. Key Responsibilities: Analyzes applicant's financial status, credit, and asset evaluation to determine feasibility of granting loan Structure loans within loan policy and prepares financing proposals consistent with approval for presentation to the applicant Maintains a positive working relationship with customers, bank staff, local professionals, centers of influence, and community organizations Manage loan portfolio including renewals, modifications, updated credit analysis, collections, and portfolio monitoring Originate sound SBA loans that comply with current SBA SOP requirements and Bank policy Collaborate with credit analysts to prepare loan approval memorandums, including resolving underwriting and application questions with the applicant Stay up to date on all SOP for SBA related products Identify business deposit opportunities and coordinate appropriate internal sales introduction to manage the deposit relationship Position Requirements Educational and Experience requirements include: Bachelor's degree in business or in a relevant field or an equivalent amount of training 5-10+ years relevant experience in a sales and commercial banking role Strong business development skills with a proven track record of developing and maintaining a high-quality portfolio of small business lending customers Proven ability to develop quotes/proposals profitably and accurately for new opportunities Above average written and oral communication skills to interact with customers, prospects, and our internal team Strong customer relationship management skills Demonstrated ability to generate $8-12 million in new loan growth Knowledge of SBA financing (7a and 504) and proven track record of prospecting SBA clients Proficient use of Word, Excel, and CRM Physical Demands and Work Environment The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
