To learn more about Berry, visit **As an on-site Controller with at least 50% spent on-site with direct responsibility for our Franklin, IN plant, this position is focused both on top and bottom line performance and also includes additional responsibilities in support of a 5 plant division in North America including the below:** **Responsibilities** **Direct Plant Responsibilities:** + Work closely with the plant manager, direct functional staff leadership, and divisional finance leader to identify, measure, and execute ways for improving the profitability of the plant and overall business, especially in respect to cost reduction activities: + Lean manufacturing concepts that include the elimination of waste and promoting company sustainability goals + Understanding and implementation of best practices in all facets of the business + Utilize the knowledge gained from the activities above to further plant financial success by accomplishing: + Capital planning and analysis for cost reduction projects in addition to effective and timely routine preventative maintenance of the facility, infrastructure, and equipment. + Development and justification of major capital investment projects for new business, including standard cost modeling for the plant and post project ROI analysis + Provide accurate weekly financial forecasts on time with bridges and commentary + Complete monthly financial closing on schedule + Complete monthly financial reporting requirements specifically plant P&L reporting and balance sheet reconciliations, with bridges and commentary + Provide all other required weekly and monthly reporting requirements including key metrics + Manage annual budget process for sales volume and the P&L + Ensure the facility is Sarbanes-Oxley compliant **Divisional Role Responsibilities:** + Key contact for product line management, product development, sales, purchasing / supply chain directly related to products manufactured in the Franklin plant + Assist with divisional sales & margin reports, product margin reviews, pricing proposals, and rebate/incentive programs + Open capital project financial management + Spend & labor cost reporting + Understand and assist all plants with production reporting, inventory control, and cycle counting + Sales tax exemption compliance + Plant master data maintenance and production order reconciliation for our Ahoskie, NC plant + Ad hoc analysis and other duties as required by management **Qualifications** **Qualifications:** + Bachelors Degree in Business, Finance, Accounting with 2+ years relevant experience + Understanding of manufacturing costing, inventory, and data processing + Prior experience with ERP systems (preferably JD Edwards) and MS Office + Strong understanding of manufacturing operations desired + Capability to build/maintain excellent rapport with facility management teams and divisional leadership + Excellent communication skills verbal, written, presentation + Understanding of Sarbanes Oxley as related to manufacturing accounting + Ability to travel as needed ~ 10% We are an Equal Opportunity Employer and do not discriminate against any employee or applicant for employment because of race, color, sex, age, national origin, religion, sexual orientation, gender identity, status as a veteran, and basis of disability or any other federal, state or local protected class.
