In the Storefront team, we are the first impression of a customer's shopping experience; we own the design and implementation of the customer-facing website. We partner with Product, Experience Design, Analytics and business leaders across Wayfair; our Storefront Engineering teams ensure that we're building technology that solves important customer problems in elegant, scalable, measurable ways. What You'll Do: Write thoughtful, scalable, and performant React, CSS, and HTML code to build and test new features that our millions of customers use to browse our site every day Develop and maintain scalable front end applications using Next.js and React. Optimize build processes and performance. Optimize bundling using webpack and turborepo. Enhance developer tooling and workflows to streamline development processes. Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to front end performance and compatibility. Stay updated on emerging technologies and advocate for best practices within the team. Make decisions and direct projects that influence how customers shop at Wayfair Contribute to decisions, initiatives, and coding patterns that influence the broader frontend platform at Wayfair Write code that is seen by millions of customers a day Be part of the team that is leading the market in delivering the most delightful customer online shopping experience for home furnishings in a quickly changing landscape We Are a Match Because You Have: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or equivalent combination of education and experience Proficiency in Next.js and React with demonstrable experience in developing large-scale applications. A deep understanding of JavaScript state management libraries, such as Redux, MobX, or Apollo Experience in designing and implementing developer tooling, such as CI/CD pipelines, testing frameworks, and code quality tools. Solid understanding of responsive design principles and cross-browser compatibility.
