Together, we can make a real difference-one meal at a time. Job Description: The Janitor will be responsible for performing sanitation operations for the plant during production. Essential functions includes general janitorial duties throughout all areas of the Plant, both manufacturing and non-manufacturing and maintaining cleanliness according to quality standards. Position Essential Duties and Responsibilities Perform cleaning and sanitation duties in assigned areas to include: Production lines, Trash dock, Trash compactor, Dumpsters, Exterior dock doors, steps and walkways, and any other areas as assigned. Follow all safety guidelines, including reporting any unsafe conditions, near misses, injuries, or accidents to the shift Team Leaders or Manager Report to management any conditions or practices that may adversely affect food safety, food quality or personnel safety Follow all Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and Good Sanitation Practices (GSP) as outlined by Ajinomoto. Handle equipment and chemicals in accordance with company, government and safety data sheet guidelines. Assist with other Sanitation work as needed. Position Qualifications JOB QUALIFICATIONS A High School Diploma or its equivalent preferred. Experience in sanitation procedures in a food manufacturing plant is helpful. Good English communication skills (reading, writing and verbal) are essential to interface with co-workers, Team Leaders and Managers. Must be willing to work together with co-workers as part of a team; also, must be self-motivated and able to work with little or no supervision. PHYSICAL DEMANDS The physical demands described are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to move about on foot. Bending the body downward and forward by bending at the spine and legs is required frequently. The employee is frequently required to use hands and fingers to handle or feel objects, tools, or controls; and talk or hear. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 75 pounds. Eye, hand and foot coordination is used continuously with operation of foot and hand controls. The employee will be working in cold temperatures.
