Description General Description: Field foreman assigns duties and is responsible for monitoring the progress of a project and keeping it on track from a time and budgetary standpoint. They must be qualified and knowledgeable in their specified trade and versed in common construction practices and development. Foreman also ensures safe working conditions and compliance with all safe operating procedures specific to the industry. Meetings and Project Review: Attend on-site foreman's meeting and coordination meetings Attend Kick-off Meetings Attend Project Closeout Meeting Maintain all field project files Review Plans, Specifications, Schedule/Phasing Review specs and shop drawings for equipment and material Review and confirm Vendor submittals and Purchase Orders for correct quantities, etc. as required Assist CAD operator with coordination drawings Coordinate delivery dates of job trailer and storage with Purchasing Take-off Standard Materials Field management of material and tools Post all the OSHA, State and Federal posters, from job start-up kit, in job trailer Jobsite Operations: Coordinate manpower requirements and subcontractors; maintain two weeks look ahead schedule Maintain and Record Field Issued Verbal Directives Compose all requisitions and/or shop forms as needed for the duration of the job for standard material and/or ductwork Determine the priorities for work to be done, based on their own initiative and schedule Verify that the needed items are available and direct employees on which tasks are to be completed first. If problems arise, the foreman may alter the schedule to minimize down time or assign workers to another section if necessary Perform initial quality inspections to ensure that work or production is progressing satisfactorily The foreman must often prepare progress or production reports, schedule or provide estimates on production output. Communicates with others involved in the project to convey necessary information, and certain aspects of the project. Architects, engineers, planners. Conducts test and inspection of products and services to ensure they meet quality standards. Responsibility to ensure that a project is completed to the acceptable standards. Employee Relations: Jobsite employee orientation Preliminary contact for work-related issues that employees may have, such as requests to take leave time and Disciplinary Timekeeper for their crew, approve timecards or enter hours worked into a database. Report Conduct of Employees Perform initial quality inspections to ensure that work or production is progressing satisfactorily. Ensure workers timesheets are filled out with correct work codes and hours Assist Project Manager with performance evaluations Safety: Ensure that workers obey all safety regulations, whether they are statutory or specific to the employer, Responsible for communicating safety procedures to employees or offering safety training to new workers. Inspect the work environment or equipment to verify that no hazardous conditions exist. In the event of an accident, prepare the preliminary incident report
