OVERVIEW We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Auditor to join our Internal Audit team in the Finance Department. As Senior Auditor, you will be responsible for leading and executing audit engagements, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and company policies. You will also be responsible for identifying and communicating audit findings to management, as well as developing recommendations for process improvements. Your work will contribute to the overall success of our organization. This position will be supervised by the Internal Audit Manager ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Lead and execute audit engagements, including planning, fieldwork, and reporting. Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and USCRI and grantor policies. Identify and communicate audit findings to management. Develop recommendations for process improvements. Evaluate the effectiveness of implemented process improvements. Perform a variety of risk-based internal control evaluations and audits over processes. affecting operations, financial reporting, and compliance with laws and regulations and make recommendations on how to improve controls. Ability to travel to USCRI Field Offices and Affiliates as needed (15% - 20%) Maintain policy governance by tracking and enforcing policies and procedures across the organization. Assist in the design of as-needed trainings for USCRI staff to ensure their familiarity and compliance with policies and procedures. Contribute to, and participate in, tasks and special projects as assigned. All the above duties and responsibilities are essential job functions subject to reasonable accommodation. REQUIREMENTS Education and Experience Bachelor's degree in Audit, Finance, Business, Accounting or related field. Professional certification as Certified Internal Auditor (CIA), Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA) or Certified Public Accountant (CPA) preferred; if not certified, candidate should be on track toward future certification. Non-profit risk management experience a plus. Five years' experience in Internal and/or External Audit in a nonprofit setting. Knowledge and Abilities Exceptional ability to think critically, analyze complex issues and suggest process improvements with a collaborative and optimistic attitude. Ability to maintain a high degree of judgement, discretion and confidentiality of sensitive information. Excellent time-management and organizational skills. Highly effective project management skills with the ability to adeptly handle multiple tasks. Ability to work as a team member and independently with a high-level of self-motivation. Strong knowledge of Institute of Internal Auditors' Audit Standards. Proficient use of MS Word, MS Excel, MS Teams and database programs. Excellent communication, interpersonal and writing skills with impeccable attention to detail. Proven experience in scoping, planning, executing internal audits, and internal control evaluations, including defining and executing tests plans.
