Federal Heath is a retail signage company experiencing growth and seeking a Purchasing Manager to support our Delaware, Ohio facility. Our success is a direct result of our exceptional people! POSITION NAME: Purchasing Manager EXEMPT/NON-EXEMPT: Exempt FULL-TIME/PART-TIME: Full-Time JOB RESPONSIBILITIES: A Purchasing Manager spends most of their time ordering products/materials from approved suppliers & distributors while seeking quality goods at reasonable prices. At times it will require searching for reliable vendors or suppliers to be added to our approved list to provide those products or new products. Negotiating prices and contracts, reviewing technical specifications for raw materials, components, and equipment. Determines quantity of product and timing of deliveries. Maintain records of goods ordered and received Locate vendors of materials, equipment or supplies, and interview them in order to determine product availability and terms of sales. Review purchase order claims and contracts for conformance to company policy. Propose improvements to the current purchasing system that will improve vendor relationships and lower the cost of doing business. Collaborate with Materials Manager, Inventory Control staff and program managers to develop metrics for gauging inventory level needs and then maintaining those levels throughout the year to align with company goals and objectives. Take the lead in creating profitable ways to manage obsolete and slow-moving stock to help offset losses. Manage the company's day-to-day purchasing activities and ensure that purchasing agents are meeting their personal performance standards. Maintain and manage inventory accuracy levels according to company goals and objectives. Manage the various roles that support purchasing which include but not limited to; Purchasing Assistants, Receiving, Cycle Counting(er),Purchasing Admins, Inventory Control. EXPERIENCE/SKILLS REQUIRED: Language Ability: Ability to read and interpret documents such as invoices, reports, and procedure manuals. Ability to write reports and internal and external communications and correspondence. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from coworkers and customers. Mathematical Skills: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent. Reasoning Ability: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to meet deadlines is critical. Time management and prioritization skills are essential. Computer Skills: MRP/ERP Experience Word processing, databases, excel spreadsheets, e-mail. Proficiency using our internal accounting programs. Other: Must be available to travel periodically Experience with cycle counts Strong knowledge of supply chain management required. Strong negotiating skills are mandatory. Proven history of developing effective inventory management policies required. Strong Leadership skills. EDUCATION REQUIRED: Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or a related field preferred. May also use a degree from a from two-year college or technical school; one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. APICS certification preferred.
