The Lourie Center School, part of the Adventist HealthCare system, is currently seeking an experienced Mental Health Therapist in Rockville, Maryland who will embrace our mission to extend God's care through the ministry of physical, mental, and spiritual healing. The Lourie Center for Children's Social & Emotional Wellness is a private, non-profit agency with a mission to improve the social and emotional health of young children and their families through prevention, early intervention, education, research and training. The Lourie Center School is a special education day school for K-5th grade. As the Mental Health Therapist you will: • Provide individual and group therapy to school students using multiple modalities such as play therapy and cognitive behavioral therapy. • Provide parent contact, psychoeducation, and collaboration to promote adaptive social/emotional functioning and developmental growth of special needs students and their families. • Participate in Nonviolent Crisis Intervention (CPI) training and assist classroom staff by supporting students during crisis situations, including at times either physically restraining children or being a support in the management of crises. • Participate in team meetings for the purpose of case review and planning for the students and their families, staff meetings, and in-service training programs. • Communicate with/informs team members regarding any significant changes/crises that have occurred outside the school environment such as medication changes, recent family stresses, etc. • Communicate with outside mental health and health professionals regarding medication, family issues, and social-emotional status of students. • Develop with interdisciplinary team members and parents, an Individualized Education Plan (IEP) for each child. • Complete documentation such as IEPs, FBAs, BIPs, quarterly progress reports, and related services logs/case notes. • Attend initial, interim and annual IEP meetings scheduled with local education agency personnel. • Continue professional education by attending training institutes, local and national conferences, or by taking coursework. • Receive clinical supervision on a regular basis from the Clinical Director of designated senior clinician. • Participate in workshops sponsored by the Lourie Center for professionals in the community and share information concerning advances and trends in the field with Lourie Center staff. Qualifications Include: • Master's degree in social work. • A minimum of one year of post-master's degree experience. • Experience in working jointly with a range of families and young children with disabilities. • Licensed Certified Social Worker (LCSW) in the state of Maryland, LGSW, LGPC. • Active American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required Work Schedule: Monday - Friday 8:30am-4:30pm For more information about The Lourie Center School, visit: #GR8 Mental & Behavioral Health #AHCNonClinical24 To apply please email your CV / resume to Pay Range: $57,606.24 - $87,705.51 In cases where the range is displayed as a $0 amount or if the position is Per Diem (offering a fixed rate), salary discussions will occur during the screening process.
