Tax Associate - Transactional Tax/M&A Location: New York, NY Pay: $295,000 - $345,000, bonus eligible Schedule: Full-time Our client, an Am Law 100 firm, is seeking a Tax Associate to join their growing tax practice in New York. This is an exciting opportunity to work on complex transactional tax matters, including M&A, fund formation, and renewable energy projects. You will be advising clients on cross-border and domestic mergers, acquisitions, and other financial transactions, while also working with investment partnerships and their portfolio companies. They are looking for you, a skilled Tax Associate , to join their collaborative team and provide top-tier legal advice on transactional tax matters for a diverse client base. What you get to do: Advise clients on merger and acquisition transactions, debt and financing transactions, and portfolio investments. Design and implement tax-efficient structures for joint ventures and a variety of corporate transactions. Provide state tax planning advice and manage tax-related aspects of transactions for domestic and cross-border deals. Work closely with clients in the energy and real estate sectors, and handle international taxation issues. Collaborate with a team of professionals on complex tax engagements and work approximately 60% in-office to foster collaboration. What you need to succeed: JD from an ABA-accredited law school, with an LLM in tax preferred. Admission (or eligibility for admission) to the New York Bar. At least 4 years of experience in transactional tax, focusing on corporate transactions and partnership taxation in a law firm environment. Strong background in energy, real estate, and international taxation is preferred. Excellent written and oral communication skills, along with the ability to collaborate effectively with clients and colleagues.
