Position Details Position Information Recruitment/Posting Title Senior Financial Analyst I Job Category Staff & Executive - Finance/Accounting/Purchasing Department The Institute for Nicotine and Tobacco Studies Overview The Rutgers Institute for Nicotine and Tobacco Studies (formerly Rutgers Center for Tobacco Studies) is undergoing dynamic and transformative growth. The Rutgers Institute for Nicotine and Tobacco Studies is one of the nation's leading tobacco focused research centers and its faculty have received over $50 million in extramural funding over the past two decades. The Institute's efforts are focused on their mission of reducing and ultimately eliminating, tobacco-related morbidity and mortality.Five Centers or Programs currently operate at the Institute including a Tobacco Center for Regulatory Science, the Center of Excellence for Rapid Surveillance of Tobacco, the Tobacco Dependence Program, a Tobacco Industry Marketing Program, and a Tobacco Control Law & Policy Resource Center. Posting Summary Rutgers is seeking a Senior Financial Analyst I for the Institute for Nicotine and Tobacco Studies, located in New Brunswick, NJ. The Senior Financial Analyst I will be responsible for conducting financial analysis, projects and statistical studies. Coordinates formulation, monitoring and presentation of budgets for controlling funds to implement program objectives of include: Prepares budget for units within the Institute based on organization's performance, estimated revenue, expense reports and past budget numbers. Supports the Institute's annual RBHS budget preparation. Prepares financial analysis and consults with project pi s to monitor progress and ensure adjustments are made in accordance with program changes to facilitate long-term planning; includes the monitoring of subawards. For details, please go to Seniority Unit Terms of Appointment Staff - 12 month Position Pension Eligibility ABP Qualifications Minimum Education and Experience Certifications/Licenses Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities The ideal candidate will have excellent business acumen, accounting skills, detail oriented, excellent organizational skills. Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or a related field plus four (4) years of progressively more responsible experience in fiscal activities. Proficient in computer applications at an advanced level (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) Equivalent experience, education and/or training may be substituted for the education requirements. Preferred Qualifications Experience with Oracle Cloud Financials preferred. Strong experience managing a large portfolio of sponsored Grants and Contracts from various types of Sponsoring Agencies preferred. Strong knowledge of Research grants and contracts budgeting and federal guidelines/regulations pertaining to Research and Development preferred.
