Working/Functional Title Enterprise Project Manager Position Summary About the Enterprise Project Management Office The Enterprise Project Management Office (EPMO) manages projects and portfolios for MSU, employing industry best practices to align with university objectives. As part of the Office of the Executive Vice President of Administration, it serves as a centralized hub for enterprise projects. The EPMO ensures a university-wide approach to identify, prioritize, and execute projects in alignment with MSU's mission and strategic goals, facilitating project management activities throughout the institution. Position Overview: We are seeking a collaborative and dynamic Project Manager to join our team within the Office of the Executive Vice President of Administration (EVPA). This role is essential in overseeing high-priority, strategic, and complex projects that align with Michigan State University's (MSU) mission and strategic goals. The ideal candidate will act as a coach and facilitator, bringing together teams from various departments to ensure operational efficiency and project success. They will collaborate with key stakeholders, including university leadership, and will be instrumental in executing leadership decisions while managing timelines, budgets, and resources. Project Manager responsibilities: Develops strategic project plans and new initiatives in coordination with leadership and key partners to ensure alignment with MSU's mission, strategic plans, and project objectives. Leads and coordinates cross-functional teams, managing internal and external resources to set deadlines, assign responsibilities, monitor progress, and report status updates regularly to ensure timely and successful project completion. Manages projects and initiatives by monitoring progress, identifying and tracking risks, resolving issues, and ensuring that deadlines, deliverables, and budgets are met. Resolves conflicts proactively between project resources and other functional areas, ensuring that project objectives remain on track. Analyzes processes, systems, and organizational structures, recommending and implementing improvements to maximize operational effectiveness and support strategic goals. Achieves operational objectives by contributing information and recommendations to strategic plans and preparing and completing action plans. Facilitates organizational change management to promote awareness and understanding of project impacts, operational processes, and procedures. Prepares and presents comprehensive reports to leadership, partners, and stakeholders, documenting project outcomes and providing regular updates on project status, addressing concerns, and ensuring satisfaction. Key Success Metrics: Successful and timely completion of projects aligned with MSU's strategic goals. Enhanced operational efficiency through improved processes and project management. Positive stakeholder engagement and collaboration across departments and leadership teams. Demonstrated value addition to the university through cost savings and strategic alignment. Work Environment: The work environment is highly collaborative, emphasizing teamwork and continuous professional development. This role follows a hybrid work model, requiring a minimum of one in-person day per week to foster team collaboration. However, project assigned may necessitate more frequent in-office presence.
