Software Engineering Intern: Big Data Job Description: The Software Engineer intern will support the development ofsoftware systems and solutions in support of factory automation and engineeringtest data systems. The Software Engineer Intern will make use of databaseadministration and design as well as strong programming and coding skills.Project work will include the creation of data pipelines, development of datavisualization, and the automation of data-based applications to drive keydecisions for the business. The Software Engineer will team up with members ofthe Big Data group to plan, design, develop and test software solutions andapplications for the business. Requirements: Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's or Master's degree inComputer Science, Software Engineering, Data Science or Related Field. Work Authorization: Because this position will work with ITARrestricted data, qualified candidates must be a U.S. Citizen or U.S. PermanentResident. Prerequisite Skills and Experience: Understanding of relational and cloud database structure Programming experience with Python, Java, JavaScript, Python, C++, or other programming languages BE database design and administration using MySQL, Oracle, MongoDB, or others Experience with web services (AWS, Azure) Extract and develop management reports from databases and do data mining and analysis to identify opportunities to drive operational excellence Business Intelligence and Visualization tools, e.g.: QuickSight, MSPowerBI, etc. Work alongside other engineers on the team to elevate technology and consistently apply best practices During the 12 weeks each Intern will: Be given an individual and well-defined project with set outcome goals Gain hands on experience Receive excellent training and ongoing supervision Be invited to attend an intern webinar series Attend networking/social events Attend and present at Poster Session about each Interns project successes and pitfalls Receive formal, written feedback EEO: MACOM is an Equal Opportunity Employercommitted to a diverse workforce.
