The Home is a 24/7/365 long-term care facility that specializes in providing comfort, support, and professional healthcare services to elderly or disabled veterans and their spouses. This is a highly responsible advanced-level professional nursing position that provides management of direct care activities and oversight of personnel at WVHUG when first-line supervisors are absent. The Nurse Clinician 3 functions as the Administrative Charge Nurse, assuming facility-wide responsibility for nursing staff, services and activities. The incumbent performs administrative duties under the general supervision of the Nursing Supervisor (DON) and with direction from the Assistant DON and Veterans Home Administrator (Commandant). Salary Information Starting salary will be between $50.00 and $54.46 per hour, depending on candidate qualifications, plus an attractive employee benefits package. Sign-On Bonus of $2000 for eligible employees who agree to remain in the position for one year. The first $1000 will be paid in the employee's first paycheck and the second $1000 will be paid when the employee attains permanent status. Nurse Clinician 3 is in pay schedule-pay range 11-01. For current State employees, pay on appointment will be set in accordance with the Wisconsin Compensation Plan. This position is not represented by a bargaining unit. Job Details The position is part-time (60%) NOC shift (11:30 p.m. - 8:00 a.m.) and works every-other weekend and alternates weekdays - Tuesday and Friday one week and Monday and Thursday the opposite week. Due to the nature of the position, WDVA will conduct a criminal background check prior to an offer of employment. Employment in this position is contingent upon passing a pre-employment tuberculosis (TB) skin test. A 12-month probationary period may be required. Employees at this healthcare facility are required to report their COVID-19 vaccination status, whether vaccinated or not, and provide supporting documentation if vaccinated. Newly hired employees will be required to submit this information by their third day of employment. Qualifications This position requires that the incumbent hold a current Registered Nurse license in the State of Wisconsin or Nurse Licensure Compact state by the date of hire.
