We fight poverty through comprehensive social services and by treating each client with compassion, integrity, and respect. Our programs are staffed by experts who help over 325,000 clients each year and advocate on behalf of all needy New Yorkers. Our services include 100% affordable housing at 21 locations, family violence services, Holocaust survivor assistance, geriatric social work, crisis intervention and the largest free kosher food distribution program in the world. Our network of 101 food pantries, affordable housing sites, and affiliated JCCs provide services directly in neighborhoods across New York City. Position Summary: The primary role of the Manager of Recruitment and Onboarding is to develop and manage a robust and efficient process for the recruitment and onboarding of all personnel for the agency. The Manager would partner with senior and supervisory staff in planning and executing the hiring of staff and establishing a uniform and seamless onboarding process. In conjunction with the full HR team, this includes staff orientation and training regarding Met Council operations and policies. The Manager would collaborate with the Managing Director of Human Resources to establish connections and strategic partnerships with other non-profit agencies, social networks, and various job platforms to ensure a robust talent pool. Principal Responsibilities: Develop and manage the recruitment and onboarding processes at Met Council. Partner with hiring managers to determine staffing needs and optimize recruitment strategies to attract qualified candidates. Review and edit job descriptions to ensure they accurately reflect the responsibilities of the roles and align with organizational standards. Manage job postings on various platforms and source potential candidates using innovative strategies. Participate in the interview and selection process to identify the best candidates for various positions. Serve as Met Council's public face for recruitment of staff both internally and externally. Conduct strategic planning with senior and supervisory staff on hiring needs. Develop and employ strategic relationships with talent sources such as schools, social networks, sister agencies, and employment professionals. Establish comprehensive interview, pre-employment preparation, and onboarding processes. Supervise HR generalist staff. Maintain a deep understanding of all Met Council programs and support operations to inform hiring and onboarding activities. Collaborate with the Managing Director of Human Resources on the implementation and improvement of staff retention policies and tools. Design and oversee the internship program, ensuring a structured and enriching experience for interns. Oversee staff member status change and departure processes. Attend career fairs as needed. Other responsibilities as required. Competencies: Must have demonstrated ability in recruitment, hiring, and retention processes, preferably in not-for-profit environments. Ability to work effectively with other individuals and organizations, operating with a high level of professionalism. Demonstrated oral and written communication skills. Ability to plan, monitor, and evaluate job-related processes and systems. A high degree of organizational, management, planning, human relations, and evaluation skills. Skill and Education: College degree or equivalent combination of education and relevant work experience in the area of human resources (required). 2+ years of end-to-end recruitment experience, preferably in a not-for-profit environment. 2+ years supervisory experience (preferred). Experience with LinkedIn Recruiter (preferred). Experience forging and building relationships with a variety of stakeholders and external recruitment and HR professionals (required). Strong knowledge of Applicant Tracking Systems, such as Clear Company (required). Familiarity with payroll systems, such as ADP Workforce Now (preferred). Special Requirements: Travel throughout the five boroughs using public transportation. Untraditional work hours as needed. Compensation: $60,000 - 75,000 per year.
