We are actively seeking Level I Machinists to join and grow in the PPG organization. Level I Machinists, under the supervision of an experienced trainer will learn to identify and operate precision machinery during the training period. Machines include CNC, EDM, waterjet, and snag grinder. Upon completion of training Level I Machinists will load, machine, and gage various size metal castings according to written work instructions. Multiple shifts available. Highlights and Benefits Quarterly profit-sharing bonus; eligible upon hire Paid time off 401(k) with company match Paid holidays Tuition / professional development reimbursement Health, dental, and vision insurance Optional HSA with company contribution Short-term disability, long term disability, and life insurance at no cost Limitless opportunity for advancement Requirements Follow written work instructions Load part(s) to be machined into the fixture Use a feeler gage to confirm part(s) properly loaded and set in fixture Enter the appropriate program number to machine part Use gages to record dimensional data on appropriate form(s) Follow quality documentation procedures Adhere to safety protocols at all times Knowledge, skills, and abilities High school diploma or GED required 4 Years machining experience or 6 years supervising in a manufacturing environment Attend and complete internal supervisor training seminar Successful score on current department assessment (internal applicants only) Current employees applying must be in good standing with company policies to include attendance, scrap, and adherence to safety policies Ability to read, write, and perform basic mathematic calculations Compensation Training pay is $18.00 per hour Upon completion of training wage increases to $20.00 per hour; approximately 90 days Salary Description $18.00 per hour
