Responsibilities Through engagement with High-Voltage Distribution, Battery and Power Electronics design teams, develop test plans, including timing and samples Root cause and recreate failure modes Analyze test data and document in test reports, share results with the team to understand failures and improve designs Build the appropriate electrical environment for each unit being tested, reaching out to firmware and hardware teams to bring up the device under test Develop and run tests to abuse high-voltage/high-current joints and connectors Identify needs for test equipment and specify, purchase, and integrate them Recognize test execution hazards and find ways to mitigate them Assist in commissioning a new high-voltage test lab with new test chambers Requirements Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Physics, or equivalent experience Hands-on experience with mechanical, electrical, and software engineering components and an understanding of how they interact in a complex product Hands-on experience with Test equipment (DMM, Oscilloscope, CAN Analyzer/Logger, Power Analyzer, Insulation Resistance Meter, Hi-pot, High Current/Voltage Source, DAQ systems, etc) Experience with MATLAB, Python, or other data analysis software Exceptional analytical problem-solving skills, able to identify and surface issues within complex HW/SW systems Understanding of hardware and software development processes Working understanding of how grid-tied storage systems function and interact with the grid Remain engaged, proactive, and positive in tough circumstances, owning assignments and taking full accountability Effective communicator and excellent attention to detail Compensation and Benefits Benefits Along with competitive pay, as a full-time Tesla employee, you are eligible for the following benefits at day 1 of hire: Aetna PPO and HSA plans > 2 medical plan options with $0 payroll deduction Family-building, fertility, adoption and surrogacy benefits Dental (including orthodontic coverage) and vision plans, both have options with a $0 paycheck contribution Company Paid (Health Savings Account) HSA Contribution when enrolled in the High Deductible Aetna medical plan with HSA Healthcare and Dependent Care Flexible Spending Accounts (FSA) LGBTQ+ care concierge services 401(k) with employer match, Employee Stock Purchase Plans, and other financial benefits Company paid Basic Life, AD&D, short-term and long-term disability insurance Employee Assistance Program Sick and Vacation time (Flex time for salary positions), and Paid Holidays Back-up childcare and parenting support resources Voluntary benefits to include: critical illness, hospital indemnity, accident insurance, theft & legal services, and pet insurance Weight Loss and Tobacco Cessation Programs Tesla Babies program Commuter benefits Employee discounts and perks program Expected Compensation $120,000 - $252,000/annual salary + cash and stock awards + benefits Pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
