Job Description Reporting to the Director, Cash Management, the Staff Accountant plays a key role supporting the cash management team. This role is initially offered as a temporary position with the potential to transition into a permanent role. Specific responsibilities include: Prepare daily deposits of cash receipts (trade receivables, misc. contributions) and post activity to financial management system; Prepare daily cash receipts journal; Reconcile lock-box deposit daily activity with bank statements and batch releases; Analyze stock sale activity; facilitate and record funds transfers; Prepare and enter ad hoc and journal entries; Process credit card charges for payment of receivables; Provide cash operations backup support, such as daily cash position reports, check printing, check upload for positive pay information and reconcile; reconcile ACH file acknowledgement received from the bank; Prepare various bank reconciliations to the general ledger; Review and reconcile various balance sheet accounts; Prepare and distribute accounts receivable invoices and monthly statements; Review and release receivable, contribution and grant payments from fundraising system; Perform other accounting, financial, or administrative tasks as may be required from time to time as directed; Apply cash receipts (trade receivables, misc. contributions) and post activity to financial management system; Review expense reports daily (other than PCard); Reconcile and analyze trade receivable balances; Review travel and expense reports, and corporate credit cards; Review charge backs and refunds for contributions; Additional responsibilities, as needed. Qualified candidates will have strong analytical skills, excellent written and verbal communication skills, and the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines. Additional qualifications include: A minimum two (2) years of experience in accounting; Knowledge of accounting and account analysis; Advanced proficiency with Excel and working knowledge of accounting software programs; Familiarity with general ledgers, chart of accounts non-profit and project accounting workflow. The hiring salary range for this position is $55,000 - $57,000. Internal equity considerations will be reviewed before making a final offer.
