Our client is seeking a Finance Manager to be an integral member of the Firm's business administrative team. This person will work directly with the Partners to support the financial strength and resilience of our practice through effective project accounting, accurate financial reporting, and improved project financial management. Responsibilities Create and sustain our culture of financial responsibility that supports the mission of our architectural practice and our values of trust, integrity, transparency, and collaboration. Ensure business practices are ethical and in compliance with GAAP. Be accountable for the firm's financial operations and the management of our business risk. Maintain successful banking relationships. Lead the year-end financial process and tax preparation, coordinate with our accountants, bank, and legal counsel, and schedule the year-end officers meeting. Coordinate with our accountants to develop financial and tax strategies, manage corporate debt, oversee major expenditures, and coordinate capital needs in line with business objectives. Conduct financial, profitability, and forecasting analyses as requested. Prepare monthly client invoices and manage cash, receivables and payables in line with corporate goals. Review monthly journal entries and account reconciliations, prepare accurate financial statements by the 20th of each month, analyze monthly performance, and provide timely, fact-based recommendations to support practice leadership's decision making. Have a comprehensive understanding of the factors - utilization, overhead, direct labor rates, efficiency and billable rates - which, integrated together, determine our financial outcome. Work directly with Project Managers and their Project Partners to monitor financial performance for projects using P&L reports and related metrics. Join weekly reviews of selected projects to review profitability and when needed, provide recommendations for improvements. Collaborate with our Director of Business Development to align our yearly business development objectives with our yearly financial plan and budgets, to develop fee proposals, and to maintain monthly revenue projections informed by promising project pursuits. Collaborate with our Employment Engagement Manager to coordinate compensation strategy and administer payroll. Manage leases associated with each of our office locations as required to support the firm's objectives for each of our geographic locations. Negotiate financial terms for third party vendors and suppliers related to our business operations. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in business required, preferably Accounting or Finance. 5+ years of project accounting experience, professional services firm experience strongly preferred. Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint Familiarity with project management software. Willingness to learn industry specific software and our system specific industry is Deltek, Ajera
