I. JOB OVERVIEW Job Description Summary: The George Washington University Development and Alumni Relations (DAR) Division is seeking a Campaign Operations Coordinator. DAR is responsible for leading the universitys alumni and fundraising efforts and seeks to promote a culture of philanthropy throughout the university community, including alumni, students, parents, faculty, staff, corporations and foundations, patients and other friends. Our goal is to advance GWs mission of excellence in education, research, scholarship, and patient care. Under the direction of the Assistant Vice President of Strategic Advancement Solutions, the Campaign Operations Coordinator will provide administrative support and coordination around high-priority initiatives related to the Open Doors scholarship initiative and forthcoming comprehensive campaign. These activities include but are not limited to events/meetings of varying sizes of internal staff and external constituents; donor engagement opportunities; and activities and tracking surrounding the preparations for and execution of the campaign. This individual will assist with advancing projects and improving office processes as appropriate; serve as liaison with school-/unit-based development offices, campus staff, administrators, and vendors, and the executive assistants of donor-volunteers; manage a heavy flow of communication to and from the AVP and VPs office, determining priority and independently initiating action or redirecting where appropriate; and perform other operational, budgetary and administrative duties. Incumbent will draft a variety of communications to DAR and GW staff, volunteers, and other external constituents and work closely with colleagues across the division to accomplish strategic objectives to advance a comprehensive campaign. Performs other related duties as assigned. The omission of specific duties does not preclude the supervisor from assigning duties that are logically related to the position. Minimum Qualifications: Qualified candidates will hold a Bachelors degree in an appropriate area of specialization. Degree must be conferred by the start date of the position. Degree requirements may be substituted with an equivalent combination of education, training and experience. Additional Required Licenses/Certifications/Posting Specific Minimum Qualifications: Preferred Qualifications: Experience in donor relations, fundraising or constituent services environment preferred. Superb customer service approach with well-developed interpersonal skills to build and sustain collaborative and lasting relationships with a wide variety of internal and external constituents. Customer service experience with prominent clientele is preferred. Excellent verbal communication skills to convey information accurately and interact effectively and diplomatically with executive assistants of donor-volunteers, DAR staff members, university administrators, and vendors. Strong written communication skills to prepare, proofread and edit a variety of correspondence and reports for correct grammar, punctuation, spelling and syntax with excellent attention to detail. Proficiency in Microsoft and Google suite of applications, in order to prepare correspondence, reports, and presentation materials with speed and accuracy; ability to learn new technologies and software applications in a prompt and efficient manner is desired. Demonstrated high level of personal integrity, discretion, confidentiality, and diplomacy. Experience working in a higher education setting as well as knowledge of university policy and organization, in order to obtain information and complete projects as assigned preferred. Demonstrated ability to independently plan, organize and work on multiple projects simultaneously; ability to make effective timely decisions and meet deadlines in a dynamic and ever-changing environment. Skilled with meeting and event management, including making facilities and catering arrangements, disseminating materials, tracking RSVPs, and recording minutes or preparing summations is desired. Resourceful with ability to analyze data/information or circumstances to define problems and suggest solutions and/or methods of implementation Maintain a reliable and predictable work schedule to best accommodate efficiency of department needs. Ability to work occasional evenings and/or weekends as required for special events is preferred.
