Description A Senior Business Developer will be responsible for extending the reach of Clark Nexsen's practice in the Charlotte market, through expert discovery and exploration of new and untapped business opportunities and relationships, as well as maintaining existing client and community relationships. Highly skilled at developing client relationships and business operations, this person will join and inspire teams to expand our business to achieve our company vision. Clark Nexsen is an award-winning architecture and engineering firm with a presence in the Charlotte market for more than 20 years. With a total of 10 offices and 350+ employees in the southeast, we are continuously growing and attracting top talent. General responsibilities include but are not limited to the following: Contribute to the development and implementation of annual market sector-specific strategic plans and budgets including plans and strategies for expansion in existing and future markets Oversee day-to-day business development program and Manage and perform benchmarking in designated Charlotte market sectors including competition, strategic intelligence, and market/industry trends and contribute to internal benchmarking for efficiency and effectiveness Oversee and contribute to prepositioning for specific pursuits Manage and maintain relationships with existing and potential clients, partners, and subconsultants Evaluate potential pursuits as part of the firm's Go/No-Go process in collaboration with other members of the Market Sector Leadership Team. Manage Charlotte annual business development plans and policies, including objectives, targets, implementation, metrics, evaluation, and revision for specific market sectors. Monitor and evaluate industry trends and client drivers and meet regularly with Market Sector Leadership Team to discuss strategy and prioritize clients and opportunities Collaborate and work together with the Market Sector Leadership Teams, Marketing Director, Communications Director, and CRM Manager Generate new leads, identify, and contact decision-makers; screen potential business opportunities; select deals in line with strategies; lead and facilitate pitch coordination Contribute to the development and implementation of business development strategy and processes, structure, and best practices across the company Develop and implement client and pursuit management plans that are in alignment with the firm's goals ( Manage the relationship with key clients Maintain and share professional knowledge through education, networking, events, and presentations Manage research for strategic planning, growth, and new market penetration initiatives Prepare and submit regular progress reports, analysis, and other reports as assigned Support the development, strategy, and maintenance of the CRM database Represent the firm externally and participate in promotional activities Perform any other assignments or tasks as needed or requested by management to assist in accomplishing the organization's mission, objectives, and goals. Occasional travel may be required. Education, Technology, and Experience Bachelor's or Associates degree in Marketing, Communications, Construction, Engineering, Architecture, Interior Design, Business or related field is preferred. A Senior Business Developer will typically have a minimum of 8+ years of business development experience specifically in the A/E/C industry. A Senior Business Developer should be able to effectively utilize current company software programs for word processing, e-mail, graphic presentation, and information management. Current programs include: MS Word MS Excel MS PowerPoint Microsoft Dynamics, Deltek Vision, or equivalent CRM Experience in the use of the following programs is desirable: Adobe InDesign Adobe Acrobat Open Asset Additional Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Demonstrate leadership, mentoring, organizational and time management skills Ability to work without close supervision in a team environment Thorough knowledge and mastery of marketing and business development principles, systems, and organization Superior oral and written communication skills are required Workplace Flexibility We have selected two as common days in the office to nurture collaboration and innovation and to support learning and growth through engagement with colleagues.
