In this role you will be responsible for the management and supervision of employees, raw material and finished good products through all the necessary manufacturing processes. Additionally, you will assure continuity of supply, continued growth, and maximum profitability. You should be knowledgeable in resourcing, planning, expediting, inventory control, cost management, quality control, lean supply chain, and demonstrate effective leadership and interpersonal skills. Essential Responsibilities: Monitor and ensure manufacturing work orders in the S2k enterprise system are being planned, scheduled, and utilized throughout the processes necessary to manufacture Magid products correctly. Works with shipping/receiving, Quality, Finance, etc. to resolve discrepancies in the process of getting products to our customers in a timely manner. Develop, monitor, maintain, a communication KPI board by which to share productivity information by employee in a public setting. Initiate, own, and conduct proactive communications with upper management about KPI's for your area. Own, populate, and participate in Monthly Operations Report Out meetings for manufacturing with the use of PowerPoint to articulate your department's KPI position. Set up and maintain optimal inventory levels and monitors excess and obsolete inventory. Interface directly with internal customers to execute delivery commitments through manufacturing orders. Identify problem areas that impact delivery and quality/performance of Magid products and initiate corrective actions. Initiates new opportunities for development of their employees and performs regular performance evaluations. Support the Magid Global Strategy to reduce cost, reduce inventory, and implement new capabilities in order to meet current and future organizational needs. Owns the communication plan as well as tactical expertise for ensuring that bills of materials are updated accurately. Working cross-functionally to sustain alignment with members from other departmental disciplines. Support new product development. Foster a continuous improvement environment through education as well as hands on learning. Conduct 5S events and lean out processes to efficiently and safely speed up delivery to our customers. Understand, track, and manage the key cost drivers for processes and takes appropriate actions to control material and product costs. Collaborates with production planners and buyers to understand demand and any changes to the plan. Assists with the manufacturing of key style updates as needed. Helps to coordinate material changes with product strategy team. Ensure bill of materials are updated accurately. Owns communication plan to all stake holders. Assists with data driven analysis in the adjustment of rates and overall costing of our products. Researches, analyzes, and recommends changes to an organization's business processes to improve operational efficiencies, quality, service, and profitability. Collects and studies operational and performance data to identify trends and opportunities for improvement. Develops process documentation and project plans. Creates flowcharts, process maps, and diagrams. Supports cross-functional activities and working sessions during projects' design and implementation phases. Designs and prepares documentation, training materials, and communications supporting new processes. May deliver training to impacted business units. This role works Monday through Friday with an occasional Saturday in our Romeoville headquarters. Work hours are 7:00 am to 4:00 pm OR 8:00 am to 5:00 pm. Requirements Bachelor's degree strongly preferred (manufacturing management, business, or related field) or 8+ years of directly related manufacturing experience. Textile manufacturing experience is a plus! 2+ years managing employees in a manufacturing environment. Strong inter-personal and team building skills. Effective decision-making abilities. Effective negotiating skills. Communicates well with all levels both verbal and written. Must have strong organizational skills and be able to work in a team setting and independently. Ability to solve problems and multi-task in fast paced dynamic environment. Proven experience effectively managing supplier relationships, reducing costs, and maintaining optimal inventory levels.
