Job Summary: The Cost Accounting Manager will hold a key role within the department by assisting with project and product costing for multiple legal entities; preparing financial projections and budgets; assisting with the monthly close and financial reporting process; and providing oversight to the Accounts Payable and Job Cost functions. The ideal candidate for this position will have a solid understanding of generally accepted accounting principles, strong communication and organization skills, the ability to prioritize tasks, the discretion to maintain confidentiality, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment with attention to detail. Schedule: The schedule for the Cost Accounting Manager is typically Monday - Friday from 8:00AM - 5:00PM . Based on project needs, some flexibility may be required. Key Responsibilities: Prepare and record journal entries for revenue recognition in accordance with ASC 606 Monitor project budgets, commitments, forecasts, and actual cost records Review and analyze weekly reports with operations including productivity, equipment utilization, and other project related financial reporting Identify variances and work with operations to ensure resolution Review contract and overhead job setups to ensure accurate cost mapping and insurance code assignments Assist with collections and project-based cash flow forecasts Support the month-end close process to ensure transactions are booked timely and accurately Complete monthly reconciliations, journal entries, and cost adjustments Assist with monthly financial forecasts and reporting Assist with product costing and review monthly inventory reconciliations Participate in periodic physical inventory counts, as needed Assist with the annual budget process and periodic review meetings Develop and maintain accounting policies and procedures Identify and implement cost-saving measures across the organization Track and report project data to assist with tax compliance Oversee the Accounts Payable and Job Cost functions Maintain vendor master data for multiple legal entities Assist with vendor payments and 1099 processing Review and approve invoices to ensure transactions are accurate and compliant with company policies Assist with the coaching and development of Accounting staff Education and Experience: Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or a related field is required Construction industry experience is a plus Viewpoint Vista experience is a plus About Brayman Construction: We are a leading heavy civil and geotechnical contractor with office headquarters in suburban Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, a satellite office in Wytheville, Virginia and various project field offices in the Mid-Atlantic and Northeast Regions.
