The Warren County Educational Service is looking for dedicated and caring individuals who have experience working with individuals who have intensive behavioral needs in a 1:1 or small group environment. We are offering a competitive salary ranging from $23 to $33 per hour based on years of experience and qualifications within this field. WCESC / COG An Equal Opportunity Employer Behavior Interventionist Job Description Title: Behavior Interventionist Reports to: Assistant Superintendent of Student Programming and Services FLSA Status: Exempt Qualifications: Experience in evidence-based practices around behavior Knowledge in research based instructional strategies High School Diploma or equivalent Valid Driver's License Access to motor vehicle Effective communication skills Ability to lift 40 pounds unassisted Ability to maneuver stairs unassisted Educational Aide Permit Pass criminal background check Job Purpose: The job of a behavior interventionist is to provide support, monitoring, and training using behavior management techniques, intervention strategies, coping skills, and problem solving for students with behavioral challenges. Essential Job Duties: Assist staff in defining and measuring behavior; understanding principles of reinforcement; teaching new behavior; implementing strategies for decreasing behavior; and identifying antecedents. Design behavior intervention plans; address classroom organization; effective instruction; social skills instruction; positive behavioral support; and factors that affect effectiveness including social and emotional skills. Work with others on the team on issues such as: crisis intervention. learning and collaboration issues, and factors that can affect development and implementation of interventions. Provide recognition of a variety of student accomplishments and positive behaviors. Work cooperatively with program leadership to promote positive student behavior by providing professional development that targets research, strategies, and modeling of instructional practice that support the team in their implementation of positive behavior support in their learning environments. Create a daily schedule and structured environment that meets the needs of the students. Provide individual and small group instruction in the areas of positive behavior support, social emotional learning, and emotional regulation. Engage in on-going professional development to increase knowledge and skills of positive student behavior support for all students in their learning environment. Comply with safety policies, practices, and procedures. Demonstrate ability to plan and evaluate strategies for improving instruction. Takes all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students and maintain equipment, materials and facilities. Maintains accurate, complete, and correct records as required by law, district policy, and administrative regulation. Maintains a positive working relationship with all school personnel. ? Communicates clearly both orally and in writing. Models appropriate dress, language, and conduct as a professional. Demonstrates regular and predictable attendance. Performs all duties in conformity to the adopted Board Policy. ? Performs in a professional manner. Other Duties and Responsibilities: In case of absence, notify your supervisor as early as possible. Fill out appropriate forms when necessary: sick, personal, reimbursement forms, etc. No class is to be left unattended. Attend scheduled meetings called by the administrator. Shall perform such other duties as the director may assign/determine. Employee shall remain free of any alcohol or nonprescribed controlled substance abuse in the workplace throughout his/her employment. Observes Risk Reduction Safety Rules and Regulations of the Warren County ESC and School Districts, State, Federal, OSHA laws and will be evaluated to the extent of compliance and implementation as an employee of such rules and regulations for safety in the workplace while visiting such sites in line of work duties.
