General Statement of Duties: This is a highly skilled maintenance electrical position for the City of Marietta, Ohio. Under Supervision of the Water Superintendent, or the designee who reviews the work through on-site inspection, participating in work, and by overall evaluation of results obtained. The applicant is responsible for the installation, maintenance, calibration, and repair of complex electrical systems and associated equipment at the Water Treatment Plant and outlying facilities. This includes but is not limited to preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, replacement, repair, and testing of energized and de-energized equipment and circuits; installing electrical conduit systems, feeders, branch circuits, panel boards, transformers, disconnects, variable frequency drives, and other related electrical equipment as well as the Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition System (SCADA). Distinguishing Features of the Position: Troubleshoot, repair, and/or install complex electrical systems up to 480 Volt AC Provide proper and immediate corrective action to decrease equipment downtime when necessary Perform preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair on equipment including, but not limited to, motor control centers, machine control consoles, power distribution panels and systems, power supplies, sampling equipment, VFD's, SCADA, ethernet and fiber optic systems, HVAC, and refrigeration systems Obtain measurements and readings using electrical and/or mechanical testing instruments, including but not limited to digital multimeters, meggers, amp meters, ohm meters, phase rotation meters, calibrators, and windows-based calibration and setup equipment Perform a variety of other maintenance tasks such as electrical preventative maintenance, facility lighting maintenance and installation, and sensor calibration (both process-related and safety-related) Maintain records of daily work and repair work; make modifications or additions to schematics and blueprints; prepare reports, documentation, and correspondence, as deemed necessary Maintain regular, predictable, and punctual attendance during regularly scheduled work hours; in addition, work a flexible schedule when repairs or installation are required; this includes but is not limited to nights and weekends Must be reasonably available for emergency call outs (24/7) for breakdowns as deemed necessary to maintain operation of the facilities * * Qualification, Education and Experience: High school diploma or an acceptable equivalency diploma (GED) 2-year Associates Degree or equivalent in Electrical Engineering Technology, Instrumentation and Control, or Electrical Training Formal schooling in the electrical, instrumentation, controls, and/or electronics trades highly desired Knowledge and Experience of Five (5) years in electrical equipment, instrumentation and controls, electronics, and/or industrial and process control facilities preferred (Water facilities highly preferred) Extensive knowledge of standard practices, principles, methods, materials and tools used in the electrical, electronic, hydraulic, pneumatic, mechanical and instrument trades Possess a valid state issued driver's license to operate vehicles, and maintain a driving record acceptable to the city's insurance carrier Meet the definition and requirements to perform as a Qualified Person per OSHA 29 CFR 1910.332 (employee training requirements for the servicing and maintenance of electrical equipment) Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Ability to work in varying environments including but not limited to inside and outside environmental conditions, in tight and confined spaces,
