To accomplish this, the position requires developing and owning high level cross functional interactions with key stakeholders and managing strategic partnerships throughout the globe. Additionally, this role will gain unique perspective and insight into Mattel's Supply Chain global network. Job Description The Opportunity: The Manager, Sourcing Transportation is a professional role that reports directly into the Sr Director, Global Procurement. The Manager will be assigned (by Sr Director) certain Logistics categories, strategies and projects to manage to positive outcomes. The Manager is responsible for the execution of sourcing strategies, with an equal emphasis placed on the ability to identify, analyze, and quantify opportunities, manage RFI and RFPs, and handle vendor negotiations. This person will assist or may lead large cross functional teams driving cost, quality, service, technology, and innovation efficiencies through stakeholder engagement using data and spend analysis. Functional areas will include, but not be limited to Fuel, NA transportation and management of Transportation Management Services (TMS) provider. NA transportation includes FTL, LTL, Intermodal and Expedited categories across US, Canada and parts of Mexico. What Your Impact Will Be: Lead global and/or regional cross functional teams driving cost, quality, service, technology, and innovation efficiencies through stakeholder engagement using data and spend analysis Develop and implement category strategies based on data, market trends, forecasts and Mattel objectives in conjunction with stakeholders. Develop and manage an end-to-end RFI/ RFPs spanning from creation, issuance, and facilitation of the entire process through vendor selection, in collaboration with an Integrated Sourcing Team (IST) to build consensus, resolve conflict, lead and provide guidance on negotiation tactics and planning with vendors, drive project activity through the communication of expectations, creation and enforcement of deliverables, and management of issues/risks Manage the third-party TMS provider for US Over-the-Road transportation, including assessing Carrier performance and billing accuracy through KPI matrix, as well as weekly/monthly/quarterly business review for the total US outbound transportation. Create presentations and analytics regarding data and spend for the categories as well as identify savings opportunities. Build a general knowledge of the market trends for assigned categories and leverage that understanding to determine potential sources and capabilities of suppliers while informing key internal stakeholders. Partner with Finance and Logistics teams to accurately forecast annual category spend, align critical cost assumptions, and reconcile actual spend against financial targets Develop and lead supplier relationship management efforts focusing on the top strategic suppliers which require engagement with senior management at Mattel and third party organizations Share best practices with the Global Procurement Logistics team's activities to drive synergies and improve effectiveness of the group Drive usage of the Coupa e-sourcing platform by the team and become a key advocate of the platform. Work with Sr Director to develop and continually update a Logistics Road Map of activities. Review current and new contracts with Legal/ Risk Management to ensure business is protected and identify procurement risks and opportunities Qualifications What We're Looking For: Minimum 3 - 7 years of relevant strategic sourcing experience BA/BS (Business, Finance, and/or Operations/Supply Chain preferred) Superior analytical, problem solving and financial modeling skills Strong track record in building both internal and external relationships Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and interact with employees at all levels Strong ability to influence Strong project management skills Excellent verbal/written skills Strong negotiation skills Proficient in Power Point Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Excel knowledge Fluent in English Preferred skills: CPM or similar certification preferred CPG background a plus Financial acumen Experience working closely with and frequently presenting to senior management Willingness to travel (position may require up to 10% travel) Strong customer service background Experience developing contract terms with legal Experience leading/managing a team is very helpful Spanish language knowledge a plus Experience using Coupa CSO and Oracle also a plus Demonstrated a growth mindset by staying curious and continuously learning, embracing challenges, and improving themselves. The annual base salary range for this position is between $120,000 and $147,000 **This range is indicative of projected hiring range, however annual base salary will be determined based on a candidate's work location, skills and experience.
