Tax Supervisor Immediate need for a Tax Supervisor responsible for planning, supervising and completion of multiple client engagements and provides a finished, complete work product for overview by Managers and Principals. Immediate need for a Tax Supervisor for a top 25 public accounting firm with excellent benefits and has been named a Top Workplace by the Washington Post. The Tax Supervisor works directly with clients and clients' accounting personnel and has become the primary point of contact for clients. The Tax Supervisor will be involved with the billing process and will supervise and train multiple lower-level accountants. The Tax Supervisor should be a sound generalist in all accounting and tax matters. Responsibilities: Completed work is accurate and organized. Work is free of mistakes at a level that is appropriate for current job level. Demonstrates appropriate skills. Self-reviews. Understands and applies the relevant accounting principles and/or tax laws. Continually learns the newest laws, processes, and procedures. Demonstrates leadership qualities consistent with building and managing a professional team. Trains and reviews work, answers questions for Staff Accountants and provides timely feedback. Monitors Progress. Makes daily decisions and adjusts activity to enhance profitability; identifies and takes advantage of opportunities to accomplish multiple tasks; takes action without being asked or required to do so. Requirements: Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Accounting certificate. 5 - 7 years of tax and accounting exp. An understanding of the basic principles of accounting. Proven ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously Strong understanding of US tax regulations Knowledge of state and federal tax form processes and how to accurately properly prepare forms for each Knowledge of accounting processes and advanced mathematical skills Skilled using various accounting software (CCH) and experience in troubleshooting common accounting program problems Professional experience in financial forecasting and risk analysis.
