For more information, visit and join American Water on LinkedIn, Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.Primary Role * Key member of a dedicated financial advisory team which provides strategic and financial guidance in support of American Water's regulated water and wastewater acquisition growth. * Prepare detailed financial models and participate in due diligence efforts to evaluate large mergers and acquisitions (M&A) to advance American Water's growth objectives. * Effectively create and present analyses to executive management to guide strategic decision making. Key Accountabilities * Prepare and present standard and moderately complex financial models within standard corporate templates, for projects requiring Executive and/or Board approval, under minimal supervision. * Create and present reports in support of analysis (graphs, tables, and PowerPoint presentations) to state leadership, executive management, and Investment Committee. * Perform financial analysis including scenario and sensitivity analysis, evaluate customer rate impacts, and calculate debt defeasance costs. * Work under minimal supervision; independently handle presentations and/or work efforts with senior executives. * Collaborate with various levels of management and departments (both internal/external to finance) such as Business Development, Rates, Operations, Legal, etc. to develop and document modeling assumptions. * Drive 'best practices' and 'continuous improvement mindset' by assessing and measuring the on-going effectiveness and efficiency of Acquisitions team systems and tools. * Maintain database of competitive acquisition transactions as well as other competitive analysis as needed. * Support regulatory filings and data requests related to acquisitions during acquisition and general rate case filings. * Research acquisition opportunities using information from regulatory bodies, governmental entities, and debt offerings. * Other ad hoc analysis as required.
