This role is within the Value Digital/Customer Experience team where we create and improve digitally-led experiences for our customers, striving for reliable, simple, exceptional world-class journeys. We are seeking an Associate Director of Experience Design to lead the Verizon Value Design Systems team responsible for crafting design systems that powers multiple brands, multiple channel experiences in the Verizon Value portfolio. The Associate Director of Experience Design will bring technical design prowess, multidisciplinary leadership, and strategic vision to build a multi-brand design system from the ground up. What you'll be doing: Setting new standards in our category and making our customers' interactions with our brands truly reliable, simple and exceptional. Leading the creation and governance of a centralized design system that supports our technical capabilities and grows with our portfolio of brands. Setting design system strategy and vision across our portfolio of brands and channels Providing hands-on leadership to a team of designers managing our core component library and in the future the front-end framework Crafting components supporting diverse experience patterns and brand customization Creating, socializing and governing processes for requesting, evaluating, building and releasing new components Driving adoption of the design system enabling designers and developers to build experiences in a performant, scalable, flexible unified architecture Evangelizing and educating brand experience teams on leveraging shared foundational building blocks Promoting accessibility, versatility, and performance as fundamental architectural tenets Monitoring industry trends and implement forward-looking features such as scalability through design tokens and use of modes Collaborating with cross-functional teams to define and maintain a design language that aligns with multiple brand guidelines and reflects best practices in UI and UX design. Defining and implementing metrics and reporting systems to track and analyze the effectiveness of the design system. Planning and facilitating design activities/methods through ambiguity, inspire creative concepting, and lead iteration and critique to improve quality to support user, business, and technical requirements. Making hiring, performance, and promotion decisions and manage your direct reports' career growth. What we're looking for... You'll need to have: Bachelor's degree or four or more years of work experience. Six or more years of relevant work experience Experience in design systems and governance Experience in digital design & user-centric design. Willingness to travel, up to 25%. Even better if you have one or more of the following: A degree in design or related field of study. Demonstrated leadership of design teams and driving results in a complex, fast-paced environment. Portfolio examples of design systems you have created. Expertise in design tools like Figma, Adobe XD, and Adobe Creative Cloud. Experience with GitHub/Bitbucket for source control Experience with agile methodology and tools. Experience with Smart Sheets and/or Google Suite. For part-timers, your coverage will vary as you may be eligible for some of these benefits depending on your individual circumstances. If you are hired into a California, Colorado, Connecticut, Hawaii, Maryland, Nevada, New York, Rhode Island, Washington or Washington, D.C. work location, the compensation range for this position is between $136,000.00 and $253,000.00 annually based on a full-time schedule. The salary will vary depending on your location and confirmed job-related skills and experience. This is an incentive based position with the potential to earn more. For part time roles, your compensation will be adjusted to reflect your hours.
