The primary responsibilities of the Journeyman Electrician are to work directly with the Electrical Field Operations Manager to coordinate electrical construction jobs and projects and ensure the most efficient use of time and resources. These responsibilities will include planning, organizing, and controlling resources to maximize productivity and meet our end goal, which is meeting or beating the project budget. Along with these responsibilities the Journeyman Electrician will assist on projects as the Electrical Lead, while helping to ensure quality and proper training of Crew Leaders and Helpers. Consistently demonstrates proficiency in all essential duties. Primary Duties: Attends and contributes to pre-construction meetings upon request. Reports directly to Electrical Field Operations Manager and functions as an extension of that position. Attends on site coordination meetings with customer and salesman upon request of the Electrical Field Operations Manager. Aid in the education and enforcement of company policy and procedures, including site safety concerns. Reads and interpret blueprints, plans, sketches, or product specifications to determine sequence and methods of assembly and installation of assigned products. Work directly with local Fire Marshalls, Inspectors, and other officials in our effort to perform our work according to the rules and guidelines set forth by State and National Agencies. Stage and select materials based on information provided by salesman and estimator, as indicated on drawings or other written instruction, or as indicated by standard industry practices to complete the task at hand. Lay out and mark dimensions and reference lines in work area to determine actual locations of system components, as described in drawings. Operate tools and equipment necessary to safely and efficiently complete assigned tasks. Work directly with other Journeymen or other crew leaders to ensure continuity of work in a situation where multiple disciplines are required. Planning Activities: Work with apprentice to set goals for personal production based on job schedule and budget requirements. Review specific safety events for projects. Develop and utilize JSA (Job Safety Analysis) for all work performed and on a daily basis. Periodically reviews work plan to assure that all information, tools and materials required are present prior to beginning work. Work with Management to develop crew schedules and determine resource requirements to maintain maximum efficiency and production for each job. Safety Activities: Understands, complies, and enforces JF Petroleum Group safety policies. Understands, complies, and enforces OSHA safety requirements. Participates in safety programs provided by employer. Considers work to be performed to identify potential safety hazards and either eliminates the hazard or reports the problem to the Department Manager for resolution prior to beginning work. Always ensure the use of proper safety equipment and by all employees under his or her direction. Reports accidents or injuries to management immediately. Aids in the investigation and documentation of job-related accidents. Develops and Utilizes JSA (Job Safety Analysis) for each day's work. Driver's license (current, unrestricted, and free of moving violations) and a state Electrical Journeyman license. Must be able to meet company's employment requirements, which includes passing a drug screen, criminal background check, and MVR, if driving for the company Physical Requirements: Ability to repetitively lift, carry, push, pull up to 50 pounds, frequent bending, stooping, standing 8-10 hours per day.
