Assembler - 1st Shift BH Job ID: 395 SF Job Req ID: 8508 Assembler - 1st Shift Assembler Location: West Chester, PA Shift: 1st Monday - Friday 6 am - 2:30 pm Pay Starting at $19.00/hr and can go up based upon experience Job Summary: We are looking for a skilled assembler to perform a variety of tasks as assigned in conjunction with the assembly of our product. You will ensure all parts fit correctly and are suitable for the final product. This position is responsible for safely performing high-level continuous work to quality standards. Assignments may change based on business demands. You must have desired technical knowledge and possess great manual dexterity. Ability to interpret instructions represented in manuals, drawings, schematics etc. and follow them with precision. Responsibilities: * Perform repetitive progressive line assembly of parts, and sub-assemblies on any line within the plant, by predetermined standard work. * Detect quality defects and unsafe conditions and perform general housekeeping in work areas * Be knowledgeable, and follow all applicable safety rules and procedures. * Read print drawings to determine dimensions, design, and materials for construction and understand method sheets * Operate power pneumatic tools, hand tools, measuring devices such as tape measures, and levels required for performing job duties. * Maintain and inspect tools and equipment, and create work orders for tools/equipment to be repaired as needed. * Loading and unloading onto conveyors and carts, operating fork trucks, and hoists. * Maintains supplies inventory by checking stock to determine inventory level; anticipating needed supplies; placing and expediting orders for supplies; verifying receipt of supplies. * Tasks can include but are not limited to: brazing, soldering, operating machines and presses, hanging and unhanging parts, and performing quality checks and tests. * Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations. Qualifications: * High School Diploma or General Equivalent Diploma (GED) preferred. * One (1) year in manufacturing experience preferred. * Familiar with and ability to utilize all hand tools including wrenches, sockets, hammers, tape measures, crimpers, cutters, and steel banding. * Basic mechanical aptitude to use equipment and maintain general understanding of business process. * Knowledgeable of and able to utilize computer systems. Key Competences: * Able to rely on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. * Ability to identify routine problems and correct routine problems, and willingness to learn. * Team oriented, must have the ability to work cohesively with others. * Must possess ability to work well in a manufacturing environment. * Must be detail-oriented and self-motivated. * Must be able to work in a fast-paced, multi-tasked environment Key Skills: * Ability to learn to operate all equipment associated with the job; including, but not limited to, power hand tools, forklifts, skyjacks, cranes, and measuring devices. * Assembles components by examining connections for correct fit; fastening parts and subassemblies. * Verifies specifications by measuring completed component.
