RBulk Region Engineer (Open) Location: Horsham, PA (Regional Office) - ManagementPhiladelphia, PA (Store) - Retail shop How will you CONTRIBUTE and GROW? The Bulk Region Engineer will lead and support design, installation, repair and troubleshooting efforts surrounding bulk and cryogenic freezer (Cryo) systems and applications. The Bulk Region Engineer will provide technical support to the field service technicians as well as Bulk Specialists on all new installations/upgrades and major repairs for bulk and Cryo systems within the Region. Support and communicate the safety culture for the region's Bulk Operations Team consistent with region and organization-wide safety policies, procedures and direction. Lead the rollout efforts for any new region or national initiatives involving bulk operations. Plan, coordinate and manage, to completion, projects involving complex bulk system design, including installation, upgrade, maintenance, and repair projects for Airgas East customers. Work with the Field Service Coordinators (FSC) to ensure they track and manage the ordering and shipment of all equipment needed for any complex project. Responsible for P&IDs, layout drawings, design calculations, coordination with equipment vendors or other experts, and regulatory compliance for all complex projects where they are the lead and provide support in this area as needed for other projects within the region Design work will consider or involve, among other things: proper equipment specifications; developing P&IDs and equipment layout drawings; pressure, flow, temperature, concentration and other calculations. Design work and installations must meet company, industry, safety and regulatory guidelines as well as the customer application needs. Answer project related status and technical questions from the Bulk Operations & Sales teams, from the Division, and any other internal or external stakeholders. Ensure complex projects are completed safely, on time and on budget. Provide internal collaboration. Participate in weekly calls with the Bulk Sales and Operations Teams to review the entire project pipeline (i.e. open, closed, and pending) and calls involving troubleshooting and system Provide leadership to engineering and project activities to deliver performance, safety and quality excellence; motivates other team members for the same results Ensure that engineering and projects adhere to the Airgas Bulk Installation Manual (BIM) and that all Airgas, industry, regulatory and safety standards and guidelines are implemented and followed Communicate directly with customer technical representative/s for timely resolution of technical issues and for project planning Support the Bulk Sales team on process design and technical aspects of customer proposals. Work with the FSC, Customer and Bulk Specialists to develop clear scope definition including engineering deliverables, scope of services, timeline, etc as needed. Communicate project objectives to the service team Ensure engineering activities are performed according to the project schedule Review, monitor and deliver quality engineering deliverables and documents for field use and for proper recordkeeping Ensure the best engineering solutions are evaluated and implemented for projects Ensure that value engineering, with cost cutting exercises, are carried out and incorporate the pertinent changes Coordinate closely with other project team members in order that projects run smoothly and efficiently Ensure that assigned projects have adequate resources and tools/equipment to meet project objectives Establish early project schedule, follow through with all engineering disciplines and monitor their progress Facilitate communication and cooperation among team members Provide technical support and guidance to the field service team as needed Analyze Lessons Learned in project execution and team feedback to make the necessary technical changes on a project or to processes and procedures going forward. Organize and participate in design reviews and other reviews as required by the customer and FSC; facilitate close-out of action items Have an understanding of the basic bulk gas properties and applications Work closely with the ALTEC team for to assist customers with gas applications and equipment requirements Engage the national Bulk Support team for assistance with interpreting Airgas Engineering, BIM and code requirements Oversee the design and installation of bulk cryo/bio installs throughout the region and ensure the proper paperwork is developed per the BIM Become an integral contributor in the MOC process, creating and approving system changes as required Are you a MATCH? BS Engineering degree required. In lieu of degree, may consider up to an additional five (5) years of related experience. 5 years in a merchant/packaged gas project coordinator or technician related role with preference for prior demonstrated experience working with multiple departments and cross-functional teams. Demonstrated ability to effectively organize priorities and a high attention to detail. Communicates effectively both verbally and in writing; listens effectively and clarifies information as needed; works well with others in a team environment across the organization knowing who to engage to achieve results. Uses candor and sensitivity in their dealings with others. Excellent organizational and time management skills to include the ability to multi-task and effectively manage projects in a diverse organization. Must have knowledge of electrical, welding, brazing, cutting and fabrication technologies. Demonstrated proficiency in Google products such as Gmail, Docs, Slides and Sheets. Demonstrated working knowledge of SAP preferred. Ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines both independently and as a team. Leadership skills; Identifies requirements; allocates, and effectively uses information, personnel, time, and other resources necessary for goal accomplishment; establishes appropriate courses of action for self and/or others to accomplish specific goals; develops evaluation criteria and tracking systems for monitoring goal progress and accomplishment; and specifies objectives, schedules, and priorities.
