Position Summary: Reporting to the Assistant Vice President, Strategy and Sales Execution, this role will perform various new business development related activities to support the Direct-to-Consumer strategies and channel sales metrics. The Business Partnership Manager is responsible for coordinating new business initiatives alongside leadership to expand market share for Kemper and brokered products programs within phone, retail and online channels across multiple states and lines of businesses. Ultimate objective is to increase awareness around the existing revenue opportunities within Kemper while also ensuring growth with new and emerging products and carriers. Position Responsibilities: Maintains and evolves a preferred carrier list and ensures the business is aligned with product offerings that fits the markets written within the Kemper carrier owned agencies. Leads research and analysis projects for current and new business opportunities, assesses potential markets to drive revenue growth and report to appropriate business units on progress. These projects could be multi-years in length. Evaluates the financial feasibility of new products and markets through studies, market research and planning with the appropriate business units. Drives ongoing analysis of P&C insurance industry and makes recommendations based on market trends and potential to increase revenue. Maintains a deep understanding of market level insights. Accountabilities include new business development, conducting standing performance meetings, as well as contract and compensation negotiations with brokered partners. Monitors brokered carrier wins/losses and provides leadership monthly reporting on overall performance. Coordinates with marketing team on channel focus, performance of campaign efforts as it relates to carrier placement and quotability. Leads special projects as it relates to business placement and/or growth initiatives for channel specific opportunities. Position Qualifications: At least 3-5 years of experience in the insurance industry, with a strong preference for direct experience in high premium agency operations. P&C License is not required but preferred Experience in managing growth initiatives and projects is essential as the role will coordinate with agency's operations, various internal teams and external carriers. Experience in decision-making and planning were key responsibilities to help in understanding and contributing to the broader objectives of the agency. Familiarity with insurance-related software and analytical tools can be beneficial, as technology plays an increasing role in the insurance industry. Experience with data analysis tools or CRM software. Must possess strong administrative and computing skills, including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and Power Point). Able to conform to shifting priorities, demands and timelines through analytical problem-solving capabilities. Able to work independently, prioritize, and meet deadlines. Willing to travel up to 20% over the course of the year. A bachelor's degree in business administration, finance, economics, and/or a Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter (CPCU) or Certified Insurance Counselor (CIC) certification is preferred. This is an onsite position with occasional work from home opportunities out of our McAllen, TX or Chicago, IL office. Sponsorship is not accepted for this opportunity.
