They search keywords.  We know key people. Job Description We are working with a brand new travel startup a short walk from South Station to hire a Lead Data Scientist. Founded by travel industry veterans (KAYAK) they are creating a brand new platform to simplify and improve the travel booking experience.   If you've traveled recently you must have noticed that regardless of the site you visit you find yourself entering the same information over and over again? This is the tedious experience most modern booking sites provide and they are going to fix it. The Lead Data Scientist will be responsible for real world implementations of Data Mining solutions able to discover patterns in large data sets at the intersection of artificial intelligence, machine learning, statistics, and database systems. Machine Learning methods for solutions in the area of Natural Language Processing (NLP) is a vital aspect of their success and they need someone capable of leading this charge. Qualifications Experience needed: 5+ years of "Data Science" experience (Analytics, Data Storage/Management) outside of research only environments 3+ years of experience with Python and/or R  Experience extracting data from databases, writing scripts to parse, clean, combine, and process that data Past experience using predictive analytics, behavior modeling, and machine learning methods to create new products or drive business decisions About you: Startup experience A desire to be involved in key company decisions in anything tech related The chops to take on major industry players as part of a small, passionate team Additional Information All your information will be kept confidential according to EEO guidelines.
