Intern, Software Engineer About the Job Madison Energy Infrastructure ("MEI") believes in the power of clean energy infrastructure and has quickly emerged as a preeminent developer, investor, asset owner, and operator of distributed generation. This role represents a critical next step in MEI's evolution toward offering direct, end-to-end services to Fortune 500 corporates, public entities, nonprofits, and other private customers alike. What You'll Be Doing: Collaborate with Digital Director and cross-functional teams to understand business requirements and support software needs Identify and support the implementation of internal software improvements Track and monitor the performance of implementations, providing insights and recommendations for optimization and continuous improvement Build and explore software proof-of-concepts and prototypes Recommend strategic investments in data and AI What We Are Looking For: Rising undergraduate Junior or Senior or enrolled in graduate degree program. Pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Information Systems, or related field. Creative problem solver. Interest in the solar industry. Interest in working in a team environment and learning about the energy industry with real-life work experience. Knowledge of Artificial Intelligence and generative AI Highly energetic and willing to learn new tasks quickly. Hands-on, with careful attention to detail Strong organizational and time management skills. Hard-working and able to prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment. Deadline oriented. Effective written and verbal communication skills to build strong interpersonal relationships. Location & Hours: This is a hybrid intern role that is based in our Charlottesville, VA or Vienna, VA (Washington, DC) or New York City office, with a required 40-hours per week; 4 days in office and 1 day remote.
